I have a choice in offset with Moto Metal

When calling a couple places, seems the only choice I have on the Moto Metal 951 18"x9" wheel is a -12 or -25 offset. I have a Titan 2006 Crew Cab lifted 6", I think I will go for the -12 offset. My reason behind this is I want less tire sticking outside of the wheel well. I'll still have some, but it will look better than the -25 offset. I want a 35" tire also.

You guys have the experience here, what do you think??? Am I thinking about this the right way? I would imagine the clearance and rubbing shouldn't be an issue, but I look to the group here for advise. Let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance!!

If you have a choice, go with the -12mm.

Those are nice rims... Would those same specifications work with the stock tires off a !8" stock rim?

Re: I have a choice in offset with Moto Metal

It's possible the tires would work, but I think it would look funny. My feeling is if you have the wheels, you need the big rubber to make it look right. That also costs money too, the bad part.

I struggled for a while, I really wanted to keep the stock rims and just put bigger rubber on them and have the rims chromed. But it just wasn't going to look right, and for the money, they new rims weren't that much more than having my rims chromed. There are a lot of great looking rims out there, but the Moto 951 caught my eye and was just a stand out look I liked.

Re: I have a choice in offset with Moto Metal

+30 will get you about 6.25" of backspacing which is probably too much so you're down to 1 option...-25mm offset.

Re: I have a choice in offset with Moto Metal

Looking at the chart provided, looks like the -12 is the best choice here. Thanks for the chart Mopar, that helps take the guessing out of the game. I think a -12 would look fine, and not have too much wheel / tire hanging out.

I don't know what I was looking at. -25 doesn't even exist for our bolt pattern. Yes, -12mm is the correct/only option. 4.5" of backspacing. Choose a narrower profile tire (toyo mt, bfg) if you don't want it to stick out too much.

Re: I have a choice in offset with Moto Metal

Thanks Rod B, I was wondering where you go the -25 number also, I kept looking and looking at the chart thinking I was missing something. : )

What profile of BFg would you put on the truck, I still want 35, what is a good width here? That's the make or break question. Thanks

Re: I have a choice in offset with Moto Metal

What I mean by narrower profile is that there are some tires that are supposed to be 12.5 inches wide but they look really wide like Nitto Mud Grapplers. Then there are other tires that are supposed to be 12.5 but look narrower like the BFG and Toyo M/T
