Nitto Dune Grapplers

has anyone had any experience wiht these or know howthey compare to the TERRA grapplers or anyother tire for that matter?

im looking to get some new tires for the STOCK 18's and i dont have a leveling kit or blocks, all stock as far as suspenstion goes ... and i dont want to worry about rubbing and or having to modify the welds or seams of the fender wells. i saw on the NITTOTIRE website that these come in a 285/65 18 size which is not a whole lot more wider than the stock and is about the same height as stock ... so i might be leanig towrds these or the BFG's T/A K/O's .... any input or suggestions would help

also would these be in the same category as the TERRA GRAPPLER A/T's or the M/T's?

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

I have the Terra Grapplers 285-60/ 18. They are about 3 inches shoter than stock 18's. And wider too. No rubbing, no modding done to wheel wells.

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

yeah i looked at those but i dont want to go shorter... does going fomr 60 to 65 make that big a difference in height of the tire... because i was told that the dune grapplers that are 285/65 18 are about the same size as the stockers

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

The stock tire is 265/70 18. So I think that's right.

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

I have the 285/60/18 Terra Grapplers and yes they are a smaller tire and yes they are GREAT. I love the tire. I will be checking out the dune grappler when it arrives. I would like to get closer to the stock height but there have been no negatives with the 285/60/18 size other than the speedo is off by 5 MPH. They ride far better than the GYs ever could with no noise increase worth talking about. I have had no fitment issues either.

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

I wonder how well the Dune Grapplers will hold up? I know the Terra lasts a long time, but I wonder how the new ones will do. I like the look of those a lot and like the size even better. Too bad the Terra Grappler's don't come in that size.

Actually, according to SCANGAUGE II, and another method I used, the speedometer and the odometer are 10% off. At 55 mph, you are going approx. 50 mph, at 80 you are really going 72 mph. And for every mile you travel, the odometer is showing 1.1 miles. So every 10,000 miles, your odometer will add an extra 1,000 miles on it.

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

CHP radar on I-5 says 75MPH is 70,69,70,69,70...it breaks in between. I am not really that worried but I don't like the milage penalty as my dumbaz had not even thought about that. THANK YOU...It will be time for Dune Grapplers sooner than I thought...great reason to buy them too!!
