I have 14,000 miles on my stock tires. If I were to need a inspection sticker right now, I'm not sure if my truck would pass. It would be a close call.
How many miles did you get out of you first set of tires? I think you should get at least 24000 out of a set of tires. Has anyone gone back to the dealer and complanded about the short life of these stock tires? The wear is the same on all four tires on my 2005 Titan.

I have a little over 20k miles on my stock 285/70/17 tires. Based on the current tread wear, I'm estimating to get at least another 10k miles out of them.
I'm real particular about rotating, balancing and tire pressure. Do you think any of these caused your premature wear?

Re: How many miles did you get on stock tire?
Got 24K out of the stock Goodyear 18s. Rotated them every about 8,000.
One afternoon along about 23K, I look at the back tires as I'm getting ready to do the next rotation...
And I go in and ask my wife to quit doing burnouts with the truck. The next day I was looking for a set of replacements quick before Mr. Man pulled me over.

Finally found an appropriate sig pic. It's good at least through August...
I had 32K on my first set of BFG 285-70-17`s and replaced them.. Not to good for 300$ per tire,,Thinking about some michelin tires that are more of a road tire this next time.. I have 50K on my `04 LE CC 4x4 BT OR right now..
I have rotated my tires twice and almost really again at 15k miles. I'm rotating them every 5k miles. I have not done any burn outs, I'm too old for that kind of stuff now. I wonder if 80 % of my driving is in town and only 20% on the interstate accounts for poor mileage? Air pressure is always good, I watch it because of the high price of gas and the Titan really liking that gas.
62K on 2 of my first set of BFG 285-70-17. I'll keep those on until October. Got to be ready for snow in November unless global warming steps in again.
Other 2 tires were retired due to very low tread at about 60K.
I got 1500km (around a thousand miles) on my stock goodyear 18"s along with three flats before I decided to get them the he11 off and put some bfg all-terrains on
