classic locks?

I'm thinking of going with the Mickey Thompson classic lock wheels...

17x9 with 4 1/2 backspacing....

anyone know if these will work?

Re: classic locks?

With 35's? Without any lift they'll definitely rub. Even with a lift, they'll rub when you have them turned full lock. With 33's I don't know. If you don't have at least a leveling kit I would bet they still rub.

Re: classic locks?

yes...I am lifting it...

Pro Comp Stage I 6" yea...I would rather stick with an 8" wheel but I really like those and they only make them in a 17x9

Re: classic locks?

No rub with my ATX wheels, same size and backspacing but I did some trimming and have glass fenders.

Re: classic locks?

You mean like this?

Had to do some trimming inside the fenders but I have pretty much the same setup as you're talking about (Pro-comp 6" lift with 35" BFG's)

Re: classic locks?

i think you'll rub the rear of the front wheel well like the rest of us. i have 17x8.5s with 4.5"BS on 325/70s and 8" cst lift (stock fenders). you can check my gallery for some pix.

The sawzall on the pinch welds did way more than the fenders.

Just FYI, it's not the 9" wide that's the problem, it's the backspacing. You ideally want a 5.5" backspacing. My 20x9's with 5.5" backspace and 35x13.5 Xterrains do not rub at all.

Re: classic locks?

If you want the classic lock look with a better offset of 5", the pro comp 1079's with their optional beadlock ring will be close. Should reduce the rub a little. I actually like the beefier look of the procomp ring over the MT ring anyways, and they are cheaper to boot.
