265 or 275 on the bridgestone REvo?

I need tires soon and decided if I buy new ones (unless I can find a good deal on something else). I will get the Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/T.

They offer 2 sizes which will work for me the OEM size

265/70/18

and a slightly wider

275/65/18

Which one should I buy?

Re: 265 or 275 on the bridgestone REvo?

I was told by a tire sales guy that going to a 275/65/18 from the OEM size could screw up the speedometer and possibly the tranny. Is this true??

Thanks

I would go with the stock 270/60 because you would hardly notice the width difference but the 275/65 is over an inch smaller tire. Bigger is better, go with the 265/70. Or with a small lift you can get the kumho 325/60/18 for about the same price. Then you get the wider tire and it's a little taller than the stock.

Re: 265 or 275 on the bridgestone REvo?

You sayin the 325/60/18 will go on a 2wd w/a mini-lift? Hmm...maybe the GY's will last that long, belt's not showing yet!

Thumbs up Re: 265 or 275 on the bridgestone REvo?

I'd recommend u go with the 265-70-18 revos' and no it will not mess up your trans with u go with a bit bigger tire, it might throw off your speedometer a bit but that's it.. Ohh by the way go into a firestone dealership and when u buy youre new revos ask them for the $ 50.00 gas card rebate we have going on, not all firestone dealers are on the ball with this new program for our customers buying new bridgestones in sets of four..Good luck with your decision and enjoy them....
