Tire/Wheel Choices

First of all, what bolt patter do we have? Isn’t it the 6x5.5 (6-139.7mm) Is that right??

In my ongoing saga for a tire for a good price has lead me to this. I’m down to a few choices.
1. 265/70/18 Dueller Revos - $150/tire + $125 s/h = $725
2. 265/70/18 Kumho KL78s - $135/tire + $100 s/h = $640
3. 325/60/18 Kumho KL78s- $186/tire + free s/h = $744

Of those I think the bigger Kumho’s are my first choice. So I’m looking at almost $800 for tires which has lead me down the road of the cheaper 17” rims and tires. I can get the

Kumho KL78’s in the 285/70R17 for $113/tire and free shipping = $452
And a set of these wheels (attached) $150/wheel and free shipping = $600

Totaling around a grand. For the extra $200 I like the idea of getting wheels and tires. What do you guys think? Anything I need to know about 17” wheels and 285/70R17 tires and rubbing. What kind of backspacing should I be looking for? These wheels are 17x10 6-139.7HC-25A. I think that means a 10” width hub centric wheel. Is the 25 the offset? Somebody please help this rookie wheel junkie.

Re: Tire/Wheel Choices

Also, what are the disadvantages to a mirror machined finish and what is an anthracite machined finish?

Re: Tire/Wheel Choices

6x5.5 (6-139.7mm) Is that right?? yes.

If you have stock 18x8 wheels they have a +25m offset. I would never put a 10" rim +25mm rim on because if you keep the same offset the extra 2" of rim will be split equally, and you will rub the knuckle, at least on my Titan it would.

If you want to keep the clearance to the knuckle the same as stock, a 10" wide rim would have to have 0mm of offset. But since they will stick out 2" more than the OEM, they may rub the pinch weld.

But you don't need a 10" rim for a 285/70/17. That is the stock Off-road OEM tire size for the 17x7.5" rim with a +30mm offset. And people are running BFG AT LT315/70/17 on those rims! (34.5" x 12").

Re: Tire/Wheel Choices

Thanks for the info!

How would a 18x9 rim with a +10mm offset do? Does a postive offset put the wheel towards the truck or out the fender well?

Re: Tire/Wheel Choices

How about a 17x10 with a +31 offset and 285/70r17 tire with a prg mini lift installed?
