Rims and Tires

I am going to replace my tires and rims. I am looking at the Helo Big Dogs 17x8. I am just not sure what tire size to go with? I want to stay away for low pros. I like an all terrain look. I am also a little lost with offset I would like them to fitsimilar to the stockers. Any help would be great, thanks.

Stock 18x8 rims have a +25mm offset. Stock off road 17x7.5 rims have a +30mm offset. For offset you ignore the diameter of the rim.

So 8" width rims should be +25mm to keep the stock backspacing. To move them out slightly an +18mm offset. The Bolt pattern, BP: needs to be 6-5.5"(139.7mm).

Non-lifted 33" tires, like a BFG AT KO LT285/70/17 are great for off road and on, and long life. Or a less aggressive AT, and some say shorter tread wear, a Nitto Terra Grappler LT295/70R17, maybe a better choice for someone that drives good quality roads most of the time.

For leveling kits, mini-lifts, and 4" lifts, either of the above, and the BFG AT KO in the LT315/70/17 which is a 34.5" x12" - some report no trimming with this tire on the OEM O.R. rim.

For 6", 7", or 8" lifts the 34.5" above, or any of the LT35x12.5x17 or 325/70/17 size in an AT or MT.

Re: Rims and Tires

Hadn't planned to now, but just bought 17x8.5 +25 to use with my OEM 175/70/r17 Duellers on my 06 XE CC. Compatible according to the website where I bought them, does this make sense to you guys?

Site asked for vehicle info, rim size, then listed rims and tires to fit the rim also. Local shop told me to write back and get the HC rings even though I bought non HC rims as the Titan does not require them.

Web site listed both types of rims. If you buy hc rims, would they have had slots instead of exact holes?

Rim was supposed to be Machined Mill finish, box says CMM, and is alful shiney! More than rest of rim. Did I get chrome, sure looks like it? I'm going to check the website to see if that part of the specs shows up. Chrome is OK, but chrome don't get you home and cost 250 more.

Site says "machined to a mirror like finished", I'm just surprised they looked so good on the face! Great deal.
