Emergency Brake Adjustment

On my 06 Titan, the emergency brake does not seem to grab very well. When I back my boat down the ramp and push the brake all the way down, it will still roll back. Puts a lot of stress on the transmission when I get ready to put it back in gear.

How hard is adjusting the brake ????
It's kind of a pain for me to get an appointment at the dealer and they are not very conveniently located. If it is easy, figured I would take a look.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Re: Emergency Brake Adjustment

Mine does the samething. It is so bad that I dont use it anymore because it is to easy to drive with it on and not even know it. The E-brake wouldnt stop that truck in a emergency thats for sure!

Re: Emergency Brake Adjustment

Working off memory, someone posted it was very easy to adjust, and it is done right at the top bracket behind the emergency brake pedal inside the cab.

Re: Emergency Brake Adjustment

Mine does just fine in a boatramp type situation. I always engage the parking brake (it's NOT an "emergency brake") before shifting the transmission into park. When I leave, I firmly press the primary brake pedal, shift into drive, and only then do I release the parking brake. Seems to work for me.

Re: Emergency Brake Adjustment

Yea thats also my normal process too, but mine ("Parking Brake") does not hold. I have put the truck in Neutral before putting into park and it just rolls on back and the ramp is not really that steep.
