Tire Pressure Sensor question part 234,769

OK, from reading the various threads, here's what I understand to be true.
  1. the sensors are wireless
  2. the sensors only come pre-installed on the 4 main tires

Here's my questions.
  1. Can I buy the extra sensors and add them to additional wheels? (i.e. the spare and the 2 extra rims I have)
  2. IF that's possible, how would I let the truck know to track a different set of 4 (or 5) every time I rotated the tires?
  3. Other than deflating a tire or 2, is there a way to test these sensors?

Capt, will be going tomorrow to my nissan dealer here in fl. to
have new truck sensors( just bought last week) looked at and
have the ecu reset. Will pose these questions to the service tech I
know. He's a good guy and should have answers. Will let you know
sunday or monday morning. Thanks.

GREAT! Thanks. I'm sure I'm not the only person with that question.

I think the ECU only reconizes the 4 on the floor. When they do the reset it OBD says FL,FR,RR,RL.

I don't recall seeing one for the spare. It would not hurt to get the extra ones added and I also don't see why it would not register.

If they are stock yes, I would ask the board to see if someone has extras. They may give u a nice deal.

Thanks for the answers.

Once Bucs1 gets back with his answers, I'll probably put up a wanted thread.
