Nitto Terra Grappler AT 295/70-17

Anyone have these? Seems like a good size, how well would these work for everyday driving? Don't want to lose MPG, how bad would this affect it??

Does anyone have the Terra Grapplers in any size and how do you like them, how's the treadlife??

I have them. They are quiet, and I can tell no difference in gas mileage (however, they are just a little bit taller than stock, so actual mileage is probably a tiny bit better). I have seen them on stock rims, but Nitto calls out a min 8 inch rim width.

Re: Nitto Terra Grappler AT 295/70-17

So far I think I want this tire, the size and look seem perfect, now it's just a matter of finding a wheel, I like the look of the MB Overdrive wheel, but it doesn't look like they have a size that will fit, anyone know of a wheel that looks similar to this one that will fit or will this one fit??

Awesome tire....quiet, wears well, and looks aggressive.

Here's the sizes available...

17X10 5-135 -32C $166.01
17X10 6-139.7 -32MM $100.00
17X10 6-139.7HC-32M $100.00
17X10 8-170 -32MM $100.00
The Nitto TGs are probably about 60 lbs. so your mileage will go down some especially if you are going from an XE OEM.

Some say they wear out fast too, which is one reason I choose the BFG AT KO LT285/70/17.

Those wheels are too wide, and they will stick out almost 4" more than the stock 17" rims! Why would you want 10" rims?
Almost any tire that will go on a Titan will fit an 8.5" wide rim.
295/70/17 will fit the 17x7.5" rims.

BTW Bolt pattern is 6-5.5", or in metric, 6-139.7mm

Re: Nitto Terra Grappler AT 295/70-17

Well right now I'm running Nitto 305/45-22's and have over 40,000 miles on them and they look like they'll go another 20,000 at least!!!!! So I'll probably be running less weight with the 17's??

Don't really want 10" wheels, just wanted those wheels!!! Looking at another wheel now, but would still like to see if there are any similar to this one...

You're welcome.

And try to find offsets of about +25 to +18 for 8" rims and +18 to +12 for 8.5" rims and you will have less chance of rubbing.

Re: Nitto Terra Grappler AT 295/70-17

How about this wheel?

nitto-terra-grappler-295-70-17-1378.jpg

The size available is

17x8 Super Finish Black 6 on 5.5 Acorn -4 mm Offset 4.25 28 lbs.

I'd go with a 295/70-17 or 285/70-17, would this rub with a 2.5" lift??

My 305/45-22's don't rub without the lift.

Also I really would like to do a 16", would this be an option in 16"

16x8 Super Finish Black 6 on 5.5 Acorn +5 mm Offset 4.625 N/I 2100 lbs. 26 lbs.

I'd go with a 285/75-16 tire if this wheel would fit.

How much does the offset really affect it if you're not trying to fit the biggest tire you can?? What get's in the way on the 16" wheels, is it the caliper or rotor or??

My wheels 17 X 8" have a 25MM positive offset. They only clear by about 3/8 of an inch when at full turn (stock suspension). The -4MM offset will probably rub at full turn. (Unless the 16" tire has a smaller diameter.)
Moving the tire away from the ball joints, increases the radius that it travels through (which moves the tire closer to the wheel well while turning).
Only a few 16"s will clear the caliper.
Also, Nitto makes the Terra Grappler in the stock 285/70/17 now. I have seen them for sale on e-bay and in stores.
