Just got a new set of Nitto Terra Graplers installed earlier today. So far so good. I had to take the factory mud flaps off and will probably need to get a little creative with the dremel tool for a little more front clearance., but aside from that they look awesome and the ride is even better than I imagined.
I went with the 325/60/18 on the stock Six spoke rims. They look really full in there, but not over stuffed. The wider stance of these tires really gives the Titan a much more aggressive Can DO look... Cost me $1100 total on the truck out the door with a lifetime rotation and balance.
Just for the record, I do have the PRG Mini lift and thats it. Will be going to the beach this weekend to test em out for sure.
Mainly just wanted to show the clearance for the tire and body panels.... was kind of hard to tell if in focus or not and judged the clearance could be clearly seen which was the main thing as someone was asking me about it.
I've been thinking about getting these but don't want to cut anything for clearance.
Did you try them with the front mudflaps at all, or was it obvious they would rub?
I had the flaps on when at the dealership and decided I did not wish to take the chance with keeping them on. The amount of clearance is around a 1/2" when at full lock on the drivers side, there is a little more room on the passenger side, but not much. If you are not planning to go to full lock on turning the wheel, I would not worry about it.
I will say this though, check the OD of the tires you have now and compare to the OD of the tires you are thinking of getting, if they are close... as mine were, should not be a problem.... IE mine were 32.6 OD (old goodyear sra) and 32.9 (new Nitto Terra grappler at) The sales rep who put the tires on even said he was surprised these fit, and that the 325/65/18 would definitely need more lift and more rim to fit for turning radius.
I don't worry too much about the gas... I have a 2.3 mile commute to work. Besides, since I have gotten the tires, gas prices have dropped by over .60 cents a gallon. So it is hard to say.
ATM though, I am thinking about getting a wider wheel and new shocks and struts. The bouncy ride is kind of disconcerting. The road I travel every day to work is very bumpy due to recent construction and I notice the bumps a lot more now. I cannot help but think it is in part due to the fact I did not change over my shocks and am at the max height and or over max for the rear shocks. Though, the bounce is bothering me a bit and am thinking it is because I have the stock wheels.... Checked to make sure everything is tight, and made sure air psi is equal on all 4 as well...
