Exclamation Hub centric rings?

Just got my wheels & tires put on today, and my tire guy told me I should get the hub centric rings for the wheels. He said I might have problems with vibrations in the future. Do I really need them?

And is there any truth to Weld Racing wheels filing chapter 11? If so, how am I going to get these?

I have the "No Fear" Weld Dune 6's. 17x8.5 with 4.5 BS and BFG 315/70R17 AT KO tires. They rub bad @3/4 turn. Hopefully the pinch weld mod will fix this though!

Re: Hub centric rings?

Sport Truck mag has a page on it. Last year they bought the Boyd Coddington wheel division and how they have acquired Weld, as kartman has said. They should have quite the selection now, although the brands are to remain separate and still carry the name they were designed under.

As long as you haven't had any problems, then I should be cool.

Does anyone know if I need some specific type of lug nuts? I will be getting wheel locks and I don't know if I need something special...

Re: Hub centric rings?

If you can't get them to stop rubbing send them my way

To answer your question just make sure the wheels are seated evenly on the hub before tightening them down, should be fine w/o the rings. The type of lug nut you need depends on the wheel, if my memory serves me correctly (I'm too lazy to look) most aftermarket wheels require conical lug nuts.
