Finally got my truck yesterday! Now though, I've got a question...
I'm pulling in to my garage earlier tonight and setting my e-brake when I pushed it all the way to the floor and hear a loud thud. I immediately tried to take the e-brake off when this happened and to re-set it only for it to have little resistance in the pedal afterwards where there was a decent resistance before. Anyone have any ideas? Only had this truck for two days so I'm still getting used to it, is this normal at all?
The e-brake is controlled by a cable that directly actuates brake shoes near the rear rotors (not the calipers). There are some return springs on the shoes. Maybe one of the springs broke or became disengaged?

Thanks for the diagram! So, this should have no effect on regular braking for now correct? I mean I shouldn't have to worry 'bout work in the morning, right? Just need to check those springs as soon as I can?
I have been noticing some squeel untill recently and low gas mileage for the past few months. Now my Parking brake does not work at all... And the squeel is gone.
It took it to the dealership and they could not re-produce the squeel since it was mostly in the mornings when cold. I told them it sounds liek brakes only I'm not using the brakes....
The sounds appeared to be coming from the front but I'm really not sure it was so high pitched it is really hard to locate.

Parking brake is on both sides in the rear, not in the front.
Thanks, it may have been coming from teh rear, I thought it was from the leaky diff seal but that was not the problem. Squeel seems to only be coming from the drivers side.
