I have read through some of the other threads on this matter. There didnt seem to be a conclusive solution to the problem. I was wondering what the consensus was.
I have after-market wheels/tires
From the other threads, it sounds like buying new grommets (whatever that is - cant seem to find the part online) should help with the fit.
Anyone with a concrete solution.
Thanks for the help

I dont know if this works for you, but I had 22's installed since November last year. My sensor light does not turn on. The shop that installed my rims said that as long as I keep my original spare tire on the truck, the sensor light will not turn on. The tech explained that the spare tire also has a sensor that the computer still reads. I dont know if it really worked, but until now, no tire sensor light. Just for your information.

Not on the Titan, our truck does not have a TPMS on the spare. Not sure why your TPMS lights is not on unless they transfer the sensors to your new rims.

i not sure that tech knows what he is talking about on the titan. the sensors all work independently, you will get multiple initial low air warnings if more than one tire gets low and i believe the manual states that the spare tire does not have a sensor
When I bought my truck, the tire light was on while test driving it. I nosed around and found that the spare was installed (it had no sensor on it) hence the light being on. The dealer put the correct tire on and tucked the spare back in it's place. I left the dealer, all happy with my new truck. No light on. Went 2 miles to the grocery store, went in, came back out and noticed a hiss. Took it back to the dealer. There was a bad sensor that was leaking. So they ended up putting the spare back on, and I eventually got a new sensor for the "original" wheel.
Moral of the story, the spares don't have sensors in them.
I have aftermarket wheels on my truck without the sensors installed. The light doesn't come on till after about 60miles of driving. It's really no big deal to me. I can deal with that tire pressure light. I think the whole idea is pointless anyways. Guess we can blame it on the Ford Exploder/Firestone tire episode.
I've been driving on the spare wheel for about 2 weeks now ( no sensor in the spare) and no light, so no clue how does it work, the original rim is in my garage so only 3 sensors on the truck,,

i do a lot of in town driving during the week and highway driving on the weekends. i usually notice the low pressure light coming on after an hour to hour and half of driving. i've concluded that since the tires are "warmed up" the air molecules become heated expanding the tires making the sensor light come on.... i've checked the tire pressure at stops and it's been normal. so i'm not so sure how accurate the sensor is.
i have stock 18" se wheels and my sensor light would come on after about 1 hr. of highway driving. i pulled over and checked all the tires, all of which were properly inflated. so i took it in to the dealer and they said they reset them. since then i've had no problems with the sensor coming on.
If the light come on and no sounding buzzard, something is wrong with the sensor and it's not low tire pressure. I had my light come on about three weeks ago, couldn't figure out what was wrong till I was under the truck, my grounding strap (one attach to the exhaust pipe) came off, I re-attached it and the TPMS light has not come back on since.

its true! the spares don't have the sensors on em. i don't know where he got what he's saying. what i did with mine was I had the shop transfer my sensors to the new rims i bought, but it has to be compatible, if not you have to buy that thingy, like what your talking about right now.

time to get the sensor reset at that point. Based on the shop manual there is a remote needed for them to be reset. I had a tire shop try and tell me the reset themselves...WRONG! The dealer did it for free during an oil change and they left the remote in my truck by accident. It looks like an old garage door opener.

I never checked if the spare had any sensors. All I can say, since replacing my rims with aftermarket 22's, my sensor light has yet to turn on. I originally bought sensors for the aftermarket rims, but the angle of the air tube would not fit the hole in the rim, so they left it out. I guess Im wrong. Just sharing my experience with you.
