Question Will BFG AT 285/70R17 & 17X9s fit w/PRG?

I want Moto Metal 951 17X9 4.5 BS.

I already have BFG AT 285/70R17 (stock size)

I am going to install the PRG mini lift.

The guy at 4Wheelparts just told me I would need a 6 inch lift to run this combo. Say it ain't so.

Why did he say a stock tire won't fit. Does it have to do with the size or the backspacing of the wheel you are intersted in?

I used to have the PRG leveling kit (not even the mini lift) with MB Motoring 17x8 with my stock 285/70r17 tires and had no problems ever...

It's the back spacing of the 17X9 wheel. It will stick out too far. I really like the deep-dish look. I was hoping these wheels would fit with the stock tire size. Also, Moto Metal doesn't make a 17X8.

The guy at 4Wheelparts also tried to sell me the Daystar leveling lift, saying the aluminum ones were no good. After that, I no longer trusted his judgment.

mytitan - I know it might rub at full turn, but you are driving really slow when turning that sharp. Is it driveable otherwise? I don't drive off-road other than fire roads. Thanks.

There's your mistake, those guys are more concerned with selling stuff than helping us.

Are you sure he didn't specifically say a pro comp lift?
