Replacement for OEM XE Tires

Any suggestions for a good economical replacement tire for an XE? I have the 17" steelies and the 245/75/17 Bridgestones, which I have never liked. I like my steel rims but I want to upgrade to a slightly wider tread (265 at least). I'd go all the way to O/R size (285), but I don't think the standard rim width on the steelies is acceptable for most tires in that size range, unless you play with the pressure I suppose. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Replacement for OEM XE Tires

XE rims and OR rims are both 7.5" wide. With a PRG level kit people run even BFG AT 315/70/17s. But these are actually only around a 305mm, (12" wide tire) x 34.5". Without a level kit 33" diameter is the tallest to go with.

I've personally been looking into 265/70/17 which is very close to the same height as 245/75/17, depending on the maker. Unless of course I get some new 18" wheels.

265/70/17's i think look to small. This may be because i had the stock 18's and went down though. Revos look good in this size though, heres a picture, but not on stock wheels but at least you get an idea on how they look at that size (265/70).

Total money spent on mods (minus wheels) = $330

I've been shopping around and I could be able to get some BFG A/T KO's 265/70/17 at Costco for a decent price. They are currently offering $60 off a set of 4 BFG or Michelin tires, so roughly the installed price would be around $650. I also like how the Revos look, so it would be a tough decision.
