Black wheels

Does anyone make a black wheel in a 17 or 18 that doesnt stick out of the fender well or maybe only an inch. I have a leveling kit and want to put 33in tires on a set of black wheels that wont stick out if the wheel well more thatn an inch. Most of the wheels i have seen stick out 2 or more inches. My ideal wheel would be the moto metal 951 in black but they seem to stick aout more than an inch from the fenders wells. Correct me if I am wrong. Any ideas? thanks

Re: Black wheels

Good luck on your search. I was in the same predicament a while ago and I finally settled on a set of 17" AR Mojaves.

When these are released, they should fit your needs...

They will be available in a 17x8.5 with 5 3/8 BS.

Re: Black wheels

edit: ^Beat me to it. Lol That one might work^: It's 8.5" wide. Thug with Teflon® (Series 3991)
1-piece black Teflon painted alloy.
American Racing Thug
Has +15mm offset and 5 3/8" backspacing, but not sure on the hub size, (06-on GM Truck)??
3991-78538A 17x8.5 15 5 3/8 6-5 1/2 06-on GM Truck

Here is one from Procomp ... Series 7005 CAST-BLAST™ FINISH.
It has 4.5" b.s. but is 8" wide so will stick out an inch less than the Moto Metal 951 9" wide rims with the same b.s.

7005-7838 (hub centric ... probably GM?) 17x8 6x5.5 0mm 4.5" 2200lbs 25lbs
7005-7883 (lug centric) 17x8 6x5.5 0mm 4.5" 2200lbs 25lbs

And a more off road appearing rim, the Series 7089 CAST-BLAST™ FINISH ... here.

7089-7838 (hub centric ... probably GM?) 17x8 6x5.5 0mm 4.5" 2200lbs 27lbs
7089-7883 (lug centric) 17x8 6x5.5 0mm 4.5" 2200lbs 27lbs

They have other models too.

Me too.

But I keep getting the run around everytime I try to buy them.

First it was "available mid-March".

I heard from some members here it would likely be April 1.

I went back to the shop on April 4 and they told me 1-2 months out.

Do you have a pic that shows them better?
If I end up getting 295mm or 305mm wide tires, I'll probably paint my off road rims in a flat/matt black, else bead blast them and clear coat them. But since the O.R. are only 7.5" wide I'll probably buy aftermarket 17s if I go with a wider tire.

Those have the 4.75" backspacing, (b.s.), so the 8" wide 4.5" b.s. model would stick out 3/4" less than yours. Also, the same tire on a Moto Metal 951 9" wide, 4.5" b.s. rim would stick out an extra 1/4".

Thanks for posting that pic as it is a great reference!

Exactly ... Reminds me of the pride I felt when I first bought the Titan back in '04 before the brake fix.

I do think the matt black is more of an off road and gloss is more street.
IMO, your Titan wouldn't look out of place with a roll pan, so the gloss looks good. More pics of your rims would be cool ... to see the detail.
