I'll just come right out and ask...

I know the whole offset/backspacing thing has been discussed to death, but I've searched and still can't find the info I'm looking for.
Is anyone running an 18" wheel at stock height with +18mm offset and 5.7 backspacing? I appreciate your input. I"m thinking of these and can get them at a decent price, but I want to make sure before I order them.

Re: I'll just come right out and ask...

it all depends on what tires you are going with. you're best bet is to look at pics of trucks on this website. find the set up "look" you like and then find out from them what rim/tires/size combo and/or size and type of lift they have.

those rims look sweet. i like black rims. i would go with at least 20's with 305's and a prg level kit.

Re: I'll just come right out and ask...

I know of a guy on another site running 24x10's w/even more back spacing.

Here's his specs

2004 SE KC 4x4 BT
No suspension mods
Amer Rac 20" Strong TIS-01
24x10
18 Offset
6.25 Backset
Kuhmo ECSTA STX
305/35VR24
No Other mods needed to make work

I know that's not the same look you're going for, but the info may help.

Whenever you get a setup that works, let me know. I'm keeping track of all the info about guys' trucks so we can answer these questions in the future.

Here's a link to the thread.

Wheel Spec Spreadsheet???

Re: I'll just come right out and ask...

I would go for the 18s on a Monster, but only because they are not offered on a 17. Nice choice. OEM 18 x 8" have a 5.5" b.s., and the 17" x 7.5" Off Road and XE about 5.4".

I think a 5.7" will be fine, unless you have a 2wd and get the PRG 4" Spindle lift, (because the spindle manufacturer, CST, on their website states 4.75" b.s. although I think they might be wrong).

Anyway with only 0.2" more b.s. you should be able to run all but the widest of tires at stock 33" dia.

Disclaimer: Buy local, (test-fit), and avoid 2-way shipping charges. Personally I'd risk ordering these for myself, if I knew for sure they are 5.7" b.s. ... Btw where did you find out their b.s. at? KMC site doesn't list it, (at least I haven't found where they list b.s. or at least offset).

The link to the XD 778 at 4 Wheel parts has conflicting information, because our bolt pattern is 6 bolts on 5.5" spacing or 6 on 139.7mm not 135 mm. Unless these are some type of universal fit, but if not this part number could be for either one, so confirm before you order, and probably best to confirm with KMC.

Part Number: W/PXD77889067718
18x9, 6 on 135 / 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern; Back Spacing = 5.70 in.; Offset = 18 mm.; Hub Bore = 106.25; Finish = Black
