American Racing ~ Clash (painted black)

American Racing ~ Clash (painted black)

These look awesome! But I got some questions…

1) Anyone have a set and if so how do you like them?

2) I want to get 18x9 but which one do I need from this list? (also related to question 3) http://asp.americanracing.com/wheels...heel&section=N

3) What backspacing do I need? (I don’t want them to stick out any more then necessary).

4) What’s the best place to buy them from?

Thx in advanced!

6090-8938A 18x9 0mm offset 5" backspacing bolt pattern = 6 on 5 1/2" 06-on GM Trucks

The 4.5" backspacing version would stick out a half an inch more, and would mean more trimming at the pinch weld.

Re: American Racing ~ Clash (painted black)

I got the size question answered, Thx Norcal. But anyone know of a good place to buy?

Or should I just walk into discount tire or Big-O and try to order them?

Check out wheelsforless .com!!! That's where I priced out my wheels and had my local shop pricematch. I saved just under $50 per wheel by doing this......

Re: American Racing ~ Clash (painted black)

Ok so I changed my mind and am getting these instead. The American Racing wheels are on back order. The guy showed me these and I actually like them a little better, same price.

What do u guys think? I put down a 100 bucks, should be here in a few weeks…

The XD Monsters are great looking wheels. I thought they were on national back-order though.?.

Re: American Racing ~ Clash (painted black)

I've always liked the looks of the Monsters, probably more than any other rim, and they would be less maintenance than a gloss black rim. [Gloss might wipe off easier, but would look worse if left dirty]. It's too bad they don't offer them in a 17.

You know I didn’t even realize you had monsters until I re-read this post.

I’m not sure what it is but the picture you posted doesn’t really do that wheel justice. I think it’s the straight on look and that fact they are 22” with small sidewalls (plus the picture is a little grainy). Not that there is anything wrong with street truck look but I’m looking for more of an off-road look. I am getting 18”s so I think (hope) the spokes will be shorter and look a little beefier and with big off road tires I’m hoping for a mean looking truck.

Also those 22 make your rotors look tiny, Time for a brake upgrade!
