hey allen, i wanted to get these tires, but i had such terrible experience with my stock sr/a's that i will NEVER buy a goodyear tire ever again, so as nice as the MTR looks, i couldn't bring myself to give goodyear more money...i know this probably doesn't help you out any, but i just wanted to vent
Although, the MTR is the ONLY GoodYear that I will ever consider putting on one of my vehicles.
i 'considered it' i guess you could say, until i opened the garage door and took a look at the sr/a's...then i bought the Nitto Terra Grapplers, suppposed to go get them installed today actually

That's somewhat flawed logic there, pretty much saying because the cheapest product is crap then all the products from <insert_mfr_here> are crap.
The Goodyear Wrangler MT/R is an *awesome* tire and I would have a hard time deciding if I wanted that or the new BFG MT KM2. The MT/Rs are a strong, well-designed, quality tire with a strong track record.
The OEM tires that come on the Titan and 90% of all other new vehicles are the cheapest, most worthless hunks of rubber out there.
Understandably, I can see how you're disinclined to spend money on Goodyear tires after living with the OEM tires, but if you do some research I think you'll find plenty of people that have nothing but positive things to say about other Goodyear tires.
I don't know of anyone running the Mickeys, but my co-worker has MT/Rs on his FJ and has been pleased. I would expect there to be more road noise/buzz from the tires but not an excessive amount. Based on past experience, they can wear unevenly if not maintained (rotated and balanced, alignment, good shocks). Most all-season tires you wouldn't really be able to feel any difference due to wear, but with aggressive tires they can be prone to cupping and feathering which exaggerates the noise and vibration of the treads.
IMO, both are decent tires.
