offset help!!!

i am looking at mb motoring blitz wheel 18x10 with a -25mm offset. What the heck does this mean? Will it stick waaaaaaay out on the sides? If i have cst spindles and an 18x10 wheel, would -6 offset work better? my tire size is 325/65r18 or 34.8 x 13.5.

Re: offset help!!!

You can see from the pic that the (-) offsets will stick out further and the (+) offsets will move toward the suspension.

Stock offset is (+) 25 mm with a 5 5/8" backing, I believe.

a (-) 6 mm offset would push the wheel in towards the suspension a bit more.

Here's a good calculator:

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Seems to me, the 10" wide wheel is going to cause you more grief than the offsets you mention. The 10" wheel is going to cause both the inside and the outside to be 1" further away from the hub, and possibly rubbing both the wheellwell on full lock and/or the suspension components.

Even with a lift, some have had rubbing with 10" wheels.

Re: offset help!!!

im trying to find a way to run the tires i already bought (13.5" wide) with my cst spindles. I would hate to have to buy new tires.

Re: offset help!!!

A friend of mine has an Armada with 20x10 -25mm offset wheels with 35x1250-20 Mud Grapplers and they stick out about 1.5-2". He works for a company that does lifts and said that he did a titan with 37x13.5-20's on 20x10 -12mm wheels and they were only about 1" out. The 37"s were kuhmo's.

Re: offset help!!!

'04-'07 Stock SE and LE 18x8 rim's offset is +25mm, 5.5" backspacing.
'04-'07 Stock XE and Off Road 17x7.5 rim's offset is +30mm, 5.375" backspacing.

18x10 with a -25mm offset will stick out 3" more than the stock SE and LE rims. 2" due to the 2" wider rim, and another 1" due to a 4.5" backspacing, vs. the stock 5.5" backspacing.
