Re: Tire pressure sensor light

There is another thread discussing this that I repiled in but I just put my OEM wheels back on for winter with an extra set of TPM's and took it to the dealer... it took them two minutes to use their wand to set the new sensors to the truck. This is an easy thing to do twice a year to keep my chrome wheels new. I did put my original TPM's into my aftermarket wheels and bought an extra set for the OEM wheels.

Re: Tire pressure sensor light

Temperture effects the pressure for sure. If your pressure is set close to the warrning limits of the sensor Driving on the Hwy is enought to warm the tires up a few PSI. After you stop the tire cools again. Forget the cheap pressure gauges, get a good one and reset all your tires. (note that major elevation changes can effect the pressure in your tires too. -food for thought)

Wasn't it butt-*** cold that day, if I remember correctly?

That's what I thought...mine has always come on in really cold weather, it's just the air compressing and the sensor picking that up....so I guess technically it is "low" on air. You didn't lose any, per se, the air you had is just taking up less space.

Re: Tire pressure sensor light

my 06 does not have a sensor on the spare. My understanding is the system can only read 4 sensors.

Re: Tire pressure sensor light

My light was on when I bought the truck from dealer, didn't know what the light was until i read the manual. I checked the pressure all were at 32 psi the next weekend I got 2 flats at the same time both on drivers side. I replaced the 2 tires & now the light only comes on when driving down the freeway for 15-20 miles. however i have herd moisture can trick the sensors so Ijust do what i did before TPMS and get out the tire pressure gage and check the pressure myself. the system alarmed when the tires blew out didn't know what that was ether.
