sorry guys if this is a repeat, but i really have done my searchin, just cant find the answer i want.
i need new tires, pretty much made up my mind that i want the bridgestone dueler revos, in the 265/70/18. my only concern is the decrease in gas milage that i may get. they are all terrains, so the tread is a little more aggressive than the stock goodyears. and also im pretty sure they are a few pounds heavier than the stockies.
so, for those runnin these tires...any noticable loss in mpg's???
or just generally, how much heavier can you get per tire before mpg's go even more south than they already are?
Never ran a REVO but ...
they are only 3 lbs. more than stock Goodyears in your size.
Btw, I lost 1 mpg going from a 44 lbs. tire to a 58 lbs. tire (same diameter), so I'd be surprised if you'd lose more than 1/3 mpg. idk
I did not notice loss of MPG with the Revos. I did notice a massive increase in wet traction and less accidents in my pants from not losing traction when it rains/snows.

No discernible change in gas mileage.

No change in MPGs but I had the Rugged Trails before the Revos. The wet traction is better than the RT. I can't tell you about the snow traction because we don't get snow anymore thanks to Bush's global warming.

wow. so i guess as long as the diameter is the same, the weight doesnt really make that much of a difference.
alright fellas. thats what i needed to know, thanks for the input!!!

With the diameter being the same, weight does make a difference in many areas. While the mileage difference is reported as negligable, heavier tires will also account for loss in accelleration, more rotating mass to slow down during breaking, and heavier demands on the suspension to dampen the extra weight. Something to consider.

of course...just seems to me that 15 lbs a tire would make more of a difference in the mpg's. guess when you're dealin with a 5,000+ lb truck, 15 aint that big of a deal....
and only a little difference moving up to 35 bfg's
like 1 or 2 mpg
