Re: need some advice for tires

I just got Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285/70/17 and I love them. Plenty of bite for the mud, and very quiet on the road.

Re: need some advice for tires

i looked at the terra grapplers and liked them. i also found that for about 150 more i could get new wheels. i cant really decide on a wheel and i dont know what i am really looking for. i also looked at revos. which would be a longer lasting tire. i only got 30k out of factory bfg's. i tow a boat that is about 3k and i tow a horse trailer that is about 6k when i have both horses. i also offroad a little. i am not allowed to lift or level according to the wife. what would be the biggest i can run stock. thanks

Re: need some advice for tires

I pull a boat too. about 4k dry. You might could put the 33's on without the level kit if you don't offset them. I just think they look better offset. I have never had any problems with my nittos. I also bought some new wheels. It really makes the truck in my opinion. If you order something and the combo doesn't work or fit, most good dealers will swap out. So you aren't really out much to just try it out. So, why no leveling kit? I put mine on myself and don't know s#@t about cars. It was pretty easy. And only about $150 total.

Re: need some advice for tires

well i was looking at the Terra Grapplers

285x70x17
but it was between the Hankook Mud Terrain
(same size)
but i do more mudding than anything else

so i chose them

the Terra Grapplers are great
and will last a bit longer
than what i got, but the Mud is where my heart is, and they arent that loud
ride is a little different though (kinda bumpy)

Re: need some advice for tires

It took me 2 months to decide on new tires, since the OEM Gdyrs suck. Traditionally, I'm a BFG A/T guy, but tried the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos, due to all the positive feedback on them. These are the best tires I've ever owned, by far! I changed from OEM size to 275/65R18 for thicker appearance and love em! These tires have an aggressive look and I did not have to sacrifice the smooth/quiet ride. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it. Also, rated very well in mud and snow. You will not be dissappointed. I will send pics if you want, long as I can figure out how to do so.

Re: need some advice for tires

I have 285/70/17s (I think... OR package) that I run Dueler AT Revo's on and they are awesome for all around use! We recently had 2-3" of sleet and ice, they gripped and pulled the trees and a Ford Edge without slipping! Great traction and smooth ride. Cheaper than the stock replacement.
