American Racing Thugs w/ stock tires rubbing

So I ordered my Thugs from 4wheel parts and they told me they would fit. Put my stock tires on them and they are rubbing pretty bad in reverse. Looks like the offset was a bit much. Will the pinch weld mod be enough?

I'm looking at my Tea Leaves...yes I can see it now...I can now see the size and spec's of your new wheels...There it is!...I can now see what stock tires you're talking about...It's all so clear now....

I'm done...no more mind reading!

Re: American Racing Thugs w/ stock tires rubbing

what's the offset and rim width?

yummy, looks like 9" width -12 offset... I liked when I had that 4.5" B.S. with my 9" wide rims... um, yeah, try the pinchweld probably still be there, just not as bad. almost guaranteed it'll rub if you get any kinda wheel travel on full lock...

I just lifted my truck and added 18X9 thugs to it, 0 offset, 5 BS with 35, 12.50 pro comp extreme all terrain and they rub when going in revers at full lock also, I am thinking about doing the Pinch Weld Mod but we will see.... I am scared to do any cutting.....

Re: American Racing Thugs w/ stock tires rubbing

Sorry Loufish. The specs on the Thugs they sent me are:
18X9 BS 4.5 Offset -12
It looks like they also offer:
18X9 BS 5 Offset 0
Is that closer to stock?
My tires are 275/70-18

My 17 inch Thug's rubbed the brake calipher. I had to get a .5 inch spacer to clear it.
