Re: Brake noise when backing-up

Sounds like your pads have had it!!
Check your rotors for wear!

How many miles?

Could also be glazing and getting new pads may also require getting your rotors cleaned.

Re: Brake noise when backing-up

Yeah, this seems to be a common problem! I hear it at very low speeds going forward and reverse. I had this problem with my '07 and now with my '08. On the '07, they replace the pads and turned the rotors which resolved the issue. I am going to have them do it again on the new truck when I take it in for the first oil change.

Re: Brake noise when backing-up

I've had the same issue with my '08. Took it in last week to the dealer and the service advisor told me this was a common issue they were seeing. The service advisor felt it was caused by a combination of humidity and poor quality of materials. Needless to say, the brakes are still noisy. My wife's Altima has been doing the same thing for months but not just in reverse...they squeak every time the brakes are applied. I've had the dealer check them twice and they can't find issue with them.

Re: Brake noise when backing-up

Found out the problem. It was my parking brake and when it got worse it hung up and would not fully release. The dealer fixed at no cost and the pads were 90% and 80% good to go . No more noise hope all of you see this post. Thanks....Jimbo
