New wheels... was told not in shops yet: thoughts?

I have a black 08 Pro-4x that I am in the process of blacking out... been looking for black rims for about a couple of weeks. Most rims I've seen are not completely black... but I found these for an amazing $125 each. I thought it was a great price. Plus they are local to me so no shipping.

Run a search for "newsouthwheel magnus" and they should come up.

What do you think?

Oh... and he is also offering 325-65-18 Toyo Open Country All Terrains for $250... not sure if that is a good price or not as I haven't researched them yet...

The black ones look pretty sweet, but I bet they're not too fun to clean.

I'm pretty sure that's not black rims, looks like just a dark picture of the same thing.

Re: New wheels... was told not in shops yet: thoughts?

FINALLY! 15 posts and I can insert URLs the official way...

Anyway a couple of people PM-ed me wanting to contact the shop... be forewarned... the website isn't too high tech.

Here is the link to the wheels:
http://www.newsouthwheel.com/UltraWh...nus_detail.asp

And to the site (since it is a bit hard to navigate):
www.newsouthwheel.com

The chrome version is $200 ... black is $125

Weight of rim is 39 lbs and they come in a very good range of sizes/offsets/backspacing.

I'm definately gonna give them a call. Considering the black ones in a 20. I wonder if he'll put together a good wheel/tire package for me?

Re: New wheels... was told not in shops yet: thoughts?

I called them today and got the scoop on these rims. They said that the rims came out in December of 07 and they were having problems with the black paint coming off around the bolts on the spokes. They have stopped production but it seems that nobody knows for how long. I had a dealer in my town call also and they were told 30 days. They do have pretty good prices. They told me 875.00 shipped to my doorstep for the black in a 20" (rims only). If I wrap them with 35" Toyo M/T's it would be $2300. I thought that was pretty decent. These are definately the rims i want. If anybody hears about them coming out let me know. The guy took my name and number and is supposed to call me when they come in.

What do you think of the prices?

Re: New wheels... was told not in shops yet: thoughts?

Jim at newsouthwheel.com called and said the rims are now available... at least in 18's. Too late for me as I went with Rockstars instead
