Chrome also says expensive. As in 'parked at the airport all this week, so please steal my $hit'.
No thanks, I'll keep the po'boy look and keep them guessin'.

Not really anymore, and of course depends on what crowd. I think chrome rims would be an anti-theft device down here.
I'm struggling with the decision to go chrome or smoke color wheels. I don't think my smoke colored truck would look good with black wheels. Does anyone know if I could buy these and get the black powder coated smoke to match the truck? Best of both worlds.

Yes, they can tape it off, or atleast my uncle's PC shop can, I can't speak about others in your area though.
To each his own, this debate could rage on forever. I dig black wheels with a bit of polished or chrome accents. I agree with OP that all black wheels are bit hard to distinguish
hey quad those wheels are nice and would look bad *** if you powdercoated the black smoke.....i see some of the points of black wheels like not standing out so much if hunting or living down dirt road.chrome is not that hard to keep clean(if you dont live down crappy roads) just wash the truck regularly(dont be lazy)i clean my vehicles all the time.whats wrong with looking expensive, having chrome rims isnt going to get your truck stolin.with black wheels being as popular as they are your probubly more likely to get those stolin.like i said i dont mind black wheels but i just want you to be able to make out what my wheels are when spending 1 to 2 grand or more on them.i see some black wheels that just blend right in with the tire and just looks like a solid mass of black, cant tell where rim stops and tire begans.and with matte black unless your truck is matte black you might as well just grab some spray paint and go to town.doesnt look right with matte black wheels on shinny paint IMO.well damn im probubly going to get flamed now by some people .not trying to piss anyone off just saying my opinion guys....has anyone powdercoated there rims to match there paint.i was thinking of doing this to stand out from the crowed.i think some deep water blue rims would look nice on my truck....peace my freinds, think happy thoughts
When I want black wheels I just open up Photoshop and go to town....
I thought that myself. After doing so, I think I've made my decision, this just looks too good. I'll probably go the poor man's route and have them powdercoated. Anyone know how well that holds up?

With the price of powder coating I don't think that would be considered poor mans route.
