im just wondering why everyone has blck wheels.dont get me wrong i like black on black paint but to me black wheels make it hard to make out what the wheel is.i used to have black wheels on my white 240sx and it looked ok but always regretted not getting gunmetal because even they stand out more than black and you can actually make out the rim.pls im not bashing any of you with black rims hell im still on stocks im just wondering why everyone has tossed out chrome as a option.....i am going to put chrome on my truck and was looking at the monsters.does anyone have these on there truck in chrome.i can only find pics with black ones(go figure lol).well maybe someone can show me some pics of 20's in manly chrome
i went with 18x9 in chrome. I am concerned that I will chip the chrome off roading at the deer lease. I guess i will just have to wait and see. if i destroy my chrome rims i will take them and have them blasted and powder coated grey or a silver. i really wanted powder coated rims but i agree with you on black rims.
I went with black because I live on a dirt road so it's either dusty or muddy and chrome is alot harder to keep clean than black powdercoat. It's alot easier to simply take a rag and wipe my wheels off that to have to polish them and all that good stuff.
I went with black because honestly i cannot stand chrome rims. Even when they became very popular i could not stand the look.

black is the new chrome. i believe it's a fad, a popular one at that. while i don't think you'll see chrome go by the wayside i just think that's what is popular right now, and anyone updating their vehicle wants that hottest latest and greatest. the exception of course being the off roaders who don't really need the chrome as it doesn't make the truck faster.
you'll notice that most top custom car builders don't follow trends but try to build timeless vehicles when given the oppurtunity. my favorites are the period specific hot rods, true to the times..
oh, and as Meg stated, sometimes it's just a matter of maintainance!
Me, i don't mind the factory wheels, easy to clean! I'll upgrade sooner or later and needless to say i don't know if i'll go chrome, black chrome, or painted, or PC the stockers.
man i can't seem to get rid of my wheels, all i want to do is update mine with some black 20's or 22's but gotta sell these first. also i just like the black wheels on some colors like black, white, grey or silver

haha ironically i was considering making an offer on these but i really need 285's m&s at the least.
to my opinion chrome belongs on a truck, and black rims stay on import cars, thats where black wheels started from.
as i recall, there are lots of rim manufacturers that put out black wheels with beedlocks. last i checked no IMPORT (nissan) cars were sporting beedlocks and boggers. but you are right to an extent, chrome looks great on trucks, guess some one should tell the ratrod guys that black is for tuners.
Truthfully I'm a lazy bastard and don't want to polish anything on my TRUCK.
Not to mention sometimes I hunt sitting in my truck and would rather not distract the game with any bling.
Chrome says, "look at me look at me"
