Seeking Tire/Rim Advice

I have a 2WD 05 Crew Cab. I've installed the 2.5" level kit along with the Bushwacker Fender flares painted to match. I want to put the widest tires available without lifting the truck. As for filling the wheel well I'd rather have a 17/18" wheel. The style rim I'm looking @ is the M/T Classic or the Pro Comp 1079. I really like the look of those two rims don't necessarily care about which brand. If it boils down to a spindle lift I'll bite the bullet and do it but rather not having a 4 year old who already has fun climbing in and out of the Titan. Any suggestions/advice?

4.5" Back space will rub with 33x12.5s... I had that with my 2.5" leveler on my 4wd... so you'd for sure rub.

these wouldn't rub AS bad..

but I think they'd still rub... wide tires alone are a problem... then to get wide rims on a titan, seems to need a somewhat negative offset to clear the tires from the suspension/frame... so it's a fine line... I don't know what is the most and least backsets that clear the inside because I didn't rub there, I know what rubs on the fender/pinchweld a little... tires that stick out at all so for my best guess.. I'd have to say probably a 10" wide rim w/0mm offset or VERY slight positive offset would clear the best. but this is a guess as I never checked the inner clearances... and basically, it's one or the other, and it'll still have problems

Re: Seeking Tire/Rim Advice

Alright here's the statline:
Pro Comp Wheel 6079-7983 17x9 6x5.5 -6mm 4.75" Backspace
Fitted with 33x12.50's

In you guys opinion, will this combo rub with a 2" Level Kit on a 2WD Pickup?

Re: Seeking Tire/Rim Advice

not to be OT, but why don't you have a 2.5" leveling kit on a 2wd? also, the guy in the classifieds is selling a spindle lift pretty cheap. I'm thinking about getting the front SAWs so if you're interested in lifting more than a spacer hit him up

as for fitting... it may need the pinch weld mod. as those tires are slightly taller and wider than mine were and mine rubbed on my 4wd w/2.5" leveler

Re: Seeking Tire/Rim Advice

I did wind up going with the 2.5" leveling kit. I also just got the tires and wheels put on. The wheels: Moto Metal Chrome 950 17x8 6/5.5
Moto Metal 950 one piece chrome plated aluminum wheel. -6mm offset and 4 1/4" backspace

The Tires BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO LT315/70R-17/D2 121R.

After all is said and done, definitely had to do the pinch weld mod. Broke out the saws-all and took it off, ground it down with the grinder and primed it up. Also had to take some plastic off where the Bushmaster Fender flares were added in the rear of the wheel well. Minor modifications to the mud/splash guards lining the inside of the wheel well were also required both front and back. Once I have enought posts to be able to attach pics I'll post some to show the final product.
