I know factory backspacing is 5.5" correct? So what will happen if I buy a set of rims with 4.5" backspacing? Will the rims stick out past the edge of the truck an inch? Will I be able to clear these wheels with my 315/70/17 tires?
I found a set that I like on eBay. I originally wanted the Mazzi Hulks but I decided I like the simplicity of the Eagle 058's instead. Plus, they're chrome which will tie in with my current theme of chrome handles/mirrors/steps.
I just don't want to over-do it. I can get my OR wheels chrome dipped for like $440 but why should I when I can get the others for $458 shipped to my door?

the fourm is about backspacing 5.5, so I wonder if the 20" stocks of 08 LE will fit the 04-07. I believe that 20's are 4.5 and was wondering if it was true.

I don't think the backspacing is 4.5 on the newer 20" OEM wheels. The overall suspension design is the same throughout the years. Only real change has been the brakes, hence the need for the 20's.

OK, so if I buy a set of rims with 4.5" backspacing, does that mean they will stick out farther than the factory ones, since those are 5.5"? I just need to know how this works. The rims I am looking at are 0mm offset and 4.5" BS. Will they work or no?

The wheels will stick out about an 1" more than stock. A wheel that has 0 offset and 4.5" BS is an 8" wide wheel. The tires you're lookin at 315's is a about 12.4" wide tire.
Normally, the widest tire you can go is about 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 inches more than the wheel width. So, a 12.4" wide tire on an 8" wheel is kinda of pushing it. Even thought I've seen it done before with no problems.
You'd just be hard pressed to find a tire shop who will mount the tires!
And yes the more the wheel sticks out, the closer it gets to the rear inside fender (pinch weld) when you turn.

blasphemy! any discount tire, even sears will mount them... hell he works at a nissan dealership so he can have the techs mount them. i had 35" BFG mud-terrains mounted on the OEM XE wheels which are only 7.5" wide.

Sorry didn't say it hasn't been done before. No need to get angry about it.
