Toyo M/T question

How do they feel on the pavement? Not really too concerned about noise level. Do they have really stiff sidewalls, knobby feeling on pavement, hows the comfort? I was planning on getting the a/t but they are not true 37's. Thanks for the help.

Re: Toyo M/T question

I love the toyo mts. They aren't as loud as BFG mts and they handle great. Very responsive. My 35's have a little play in the sidwalls. They stick great and are wearing great so far. I only have 10k on them but i do really think they are worth the bank.

Re: Toyo M/T question

I agree, I have the 295/70-17's, and they are great on the road. The only difference I notice is that it tends to grab the grooves in the road more than the stock tires. I think that has to do with the width, more than anything else. I have over 10k miles on them, and they still look great. Very quiet for a M/T, and they do great in the rain and mud. When these are worn I will get another set.

Re: Toyo M/T question

I think the noise on mine have diminished significantly since they were brand new. I had them sipped so that might have cause some of the noise. They still make a noise when I leave a traffic signal ... knobby or sipes, idk.

The do have a stiff 3-ply sidewall, but handle very well in the 33.5" LT295/70/17. But they definitely do not handle curvy roads as good as the BFG AT KO 32.8" LT285/70/17, but they are still very good.

Also not as quick as my old 58 lbs, KOs, the Toyo M/Ts being 15 lbs. more ... 73 lbs. I don't even want to think about what it would be like running four 94 lbs. 37x20 Toyo M/T,

my mickey thompsons i have right now are 86 pounds when i weighed them, I dont think 94 pounds is gonna make a significant change. But yea your right these are some heavy tires.

One of my buddies got just under 40k miles out of a set of 40" Toyo's on a Superduty, and one of my other buddies has a Chevy on 35" Toyo's with 20k miles that look about half worn.

Re: Toyo M/T question

When I decided to mount M/T's I was expecting significant on-road compromises. This simply hasn't been the case. I have about 8k on mine, and have been very impressed by these tires. They are just a bit louder than stock, and feel a bit knobby at very low speeds (like just taking off from a stop), but other than that feel great on-road. And off-Road they're fantastic!!

Re: Toyo M/T question

Go with the toyo's, you won't regret it. They do well on all terrain. Well worth the price and not as noisy as other 37's I have heard on other trucks: they put out an nice humm.
