Cool Cracked Rim

I just noticed that one of my rims appears to have a stress fracture all the way through one of the "spokes" of the rim. My wheels are original with the purchase. I've got 17,000 miles on this truck and don't use it for off roading or any other rough usage. I do tow a Puma Trailer from time to time, but the truck has the towing package. Don't see how that would crack a rim.

Any body else out there had this problem with your rims?

I called the dealership this morning and he said as long as it doesn't appear to be caused by negligence (me hitting it with something), it will more than likely be covered by the warranty. Hope so, I see these wheels are extremely expensive.

Thanks for the rely.

If the dealer refuses to warranty it, Id go on ebay and look for new takeoffs, not expensive at all, Dont buy a new rim from the dealer

Re: Cracked Rim

There have been a couple of forum members that had a cracked spoke. If you do a search, you can probably find the threads.

Re: Cracked Rim

Thanks for the replies. I'll do a search. I am hoping that Nissan will stand by their product and replace my rim.

Re: Cracked Rim

Well, I did a search and didn't come up with much. I'll let you know what happens after I meet with the Service Dept. at Nissan.

Re: Cracked Rim

Nissan replaced my cracked rim with no questions ask. Without a doubt the best customer service I have ever had from any dealer.

Re: Cracked Rim

Took the truck in today and the service department was shocked at the crack in the rim. They ordered a new wheel and will be replacing it free of charge! YAY! They were extremely nice and fast. They changed my tire and replaced it with the spare until I get the new wheel.
