abs sensor repair

My front driver side speed sensor/abs sensor , the housing is warped and the wire exposed and frayed. Abs and slip light stay on and goes off everynow and then. part is 160$ at dealer......can i just cut and splice for a fix ? Thanks

This happened on my tundra. They told me the same thing as you, I told em BS and they looked at it closer and all I had to replace was this $60 wire. The whole cable with plug and everything will run you about what your seeing.
