I was trying to rotate my tires on my 2wd Titan, and after the past few rotations, the front wheels (factory 18's) get harder and harder to remove. I just rolled over 100,000 miles. It seems like the wheels and the mounting face on the rotors are getting joined together (from heat?). Has anybody else run into this? If so, do you have a fix for preventing it?
^^^ or a little wheel bearing grease where the wheel contacts the hub/rotor. Just be careful not to get any on the braking surface. A thin film is all you need.
Clean the center hub (the part that goes thru the hole in the wheel) with a stiff wire brush or emery cloth. Check inside of wheel for corrosion, clean in a similar way. Then apply light coat of grease or anti-seize as mentioned.
