Re: Discount Tire Direct now offers BRAKES and ROTORS?
These brake pads and rotors would look great on my truck. I've been looking for a top of the line breaking system and i would like to take the challenge to see how well they work, thanks TroyTitan

Discount Tire just got all of our companies tire business here in Tn...Looking forward to having more than one or two places to got to for repairs/peplacements!!
Re: Discount Tire Direct now offers BRAKES and ROTORS?
OK, I promised I'd report back after I got these on, so here's what I can say up to this point...
Setup is the EBC slotted front rotors, I kept the rears stock as they weren't warped nor did they show any real wear to speak of at all with 53k miles on the truck. Front pads are the Yellow Stuff, rear pads are the Green Stuff. See my previous posts in this thread as to why they're that color combo front/rear. Every thing drop ships straight from EBC, and it was all packaged well and arrived in great shape. Install was pretty straight forward, and I used BlackBeauty's cheat page that's in his sig for guidance. My only real issue during install was the driver's rear rotor. That baby did NOT want to come off and took a bit of persuasion. I took them off so that I could properly adjust the parking brake and let out the adjustment I'd previously done on the nut above the parking brake pedal. That being said, all else went smoothly.
After install, followed the proper bed in procedure recommended by EBC for their pads, completing the last phase over the weekend. I've probably got about 500+ miles on these now, total. During the final bed in, the procedure calls for several 60-0 mph runs during which there's noticeable brake smell, as you'd expect since you're really putting some heat into the pads/rotors with the repeated stops. After that process, I drove for about another 10 miles home. When I got into the neighborhood, there was some squealing from one of the rears that I heard at low speeds and light-ish pedal pressure. It hadn't done this prior to this last procedure. Visually checked it all in the driveway and noticed that there was still quite a bit of heat coming off the pads and rotors so decided to just let it rest and cool and see if it would recur. Next morning I get in and head out to work and didn't hear the squealing, nor have I heard it since.
During the initial bed in, BOTH front and rears dusted heavily. At first I noticed it primarily on the front, but probably because I was expecting the Yellows to dust more than the Greens. Upon further inspection though, all four corners dusted pretty heavily. I'll attribute this to the bed in and move on for the moment. I washed up the wheels over the weekend, and I'll report back later on how they all compare to the stock pads as far as dust goes.
In braking, there's a very noticeable difference for the better in the feel of this setup. Much better response than stock, with greatly improved braking once the fronts have built up a bit of residual heat. The Yellows state they they aren't excellent cold, and they're not. They stop just fine cold, but they really do like some heat in them. Once that's built up, these things are awesome. The only fade that I noticed was during those repeated runs down from 60-0 bedding them in. There was fade, but never so much as to make me think that they weren't going to stop me, and more pedal pressure made them bite more to take up the slack from the fade.
Pedal modulation during braking with this setup seems much more precise. I don't pretend to know why, whether it's the slotted rotors, the pads, or both. It's definitely better though.
I haven't run them through a full panic stop, and I won't, just to see how they do. I haven't towed with them yet either, but I will be going out this weekend on a 100 mile pull with the appx. 6500 lb trailer hooked, and then the following weekend I'll pull it home. More updates to come after that if you guys are interested.
Short story? Awesome brakes. Great service from the guys at Discount. Great price, making them a viable option to the higher priced Frozen rotors while still providing a HUGE improvement over OEM.

Re: Discount Tire Direct now offers BRAKES and ROTORS?
Follow up to my previous reports. Both front and rears are still dusting more heavily than the stock pads, but I've only got a little less than 1000 miles on them, and neither seems to be dusting as badly as they did after initial install, so I'm hopeful that as they continue to bed in completely the dusting will continue to decrease.
I put 100 towing miles on the truck over the weekend. This was pulling the ~6500lb travel trailer. I'm very impressed with the improvement over stock. Much better bite and control. The brakes were one major part of making this the best tow I've had with this truck to date.
The other has nothing to do with the new brakes, but is related to WD hitch setup. I put the bars a bit more aggressive, which gave me less squat in the rear and a lot less sway. I only have a friction type anti-sway on this setup, and because of some "help" I got hooking up the trailer, wound up with that friction unit not tightened up at all. And even with that, it swayed far less than ever.
The extra confidence of less sway and the FAR better braking performance and control made this tow trip downright pleasant. I'm very pleased with my choice for these brakes so far. The dusting is annoying, but I need brakes that stop, and these certainly do.
Edit to add: I'm almost certain that the pads are still going through their bed in process to some degree. After I unhooked the trailer and drove the return trip home, the unloaded braking feel seemed to be even more improved than before the towing trip. I can't think of any reason why other than they're still gaining contact area with the rotors through the bedding in.

Hey Discount Guy...
I just went to the eBay site to price out brakes for my 04. I punched in all of my info and selected Front Rotors and got...
0 results found for ("GD7361||TITAN","UPR7361||TITAN",)
No rotors for the 04 guys?
I also tried the pads and was offered the Green or the 7000 Heavy Duty Green. Since I hate my stock brakes, I'm a 4x4 and I also pull a 7500 lbs. travel trailer I'm wondering if the extra $10.00 would be worth it? Anyone have experience with the EBC Brakes 7000 Heavy Duty Green?

Yes, EBC builds Green and Yellow pads for the front and Green pads for the rear. They also build all three rotor types.

I suggest running the YellowStuff in the front and the GreenStuff in the rear.

Re: Discount Tire Direct now offers BRAKES and ROTORS?
This should be my last follow up report. I'm running exactly what's posted above. Yellow front, green rear with the slotted rotors on front and kept the OEM rotors on the rear.
The big question everyone seems to have is dusting. With over 1000 miles on these now, they're fully bedded in. Dusting from BOTH types was pretty bad during bed in, but has now settled down to being pretty close to what I got from the OEM setup. I'm not one to worry too much about the dusting, so even though for some the OEM setup dusted too badly for their liking, it doesn't bother me. I never thought it was that bad. I want stopping power, and with the EBC setup, I certainly get that to a much greater extent than the OEM ever gave me.
I'm very pleased with the performance (again, my main concern), and any dusting there is gives me absolutely no regrets for my choice.
