Post up the scanned slips. That'll prove definitively if it was a poor Bullitt driver or not and if you can truly beat stock/mildly modified 99-04 2Vs and/or 05-09 3Vs. I'm fairly familiar with what each can run in both manual/auto transmission forms and with light modifications.

I'm seeing a lot of low 9s and high 8s being posted in some sigs and that won't outrun many 99-09s with a somewhat decent driver. Low 8s would get the stockish autos for sure though or a poor 5 speed driver. heh, I watched a 400rwhp Saleen driver hit 8.7s in the 1/8th due to his poor driving. Car looked like a forward move see-saw.

timeslips ftw

Let's see what you can do. If you're taking him and he's actually an ok driver, you should run a low 14.

Re: For all the non-believers out there....

It's funny how this guy has video of him beating the stang, and he still gets questioned.

Street racing is different than drag racing. I've beat a lot of cars on the street, but have gotten my butt handed to me by the same cars on the track. Just because he runs XX @ XX, doesn't mean he can't beat a faster car on the street. Now, that doesn't mean our T's can beat a 11 second car, 12, or a low-mid 13s car. A lot of things you have to factor in for street racing IMO.

for me personally, i am not questioning...i just want to see how fast his truck runs and the only way to do that is the track where you can get a finite number. anyone can sit here and say i beat this on the street so i should run this at the track and should beat this and that....nothing but shoulda coulda woulda.

also, bringing it to the track and getting numbers holds more value with me because i am not a fan of street racing...if street racing were a good and credible thing...there wouldnt be tracks (or no one would use them). not saying i'm against street racing...if someone wants to go from one light to the other, i am down...but racing on the streets excessively and reaching high speeds is rather dumb IMO and i lose respect for those that do it...it's selfish to endanger others just to prove your truck is faster than something else. if youre gonna do it, use logic and pick your races wisely.

so yeah, moral of the long post...i like track numbers more than a video of beating something and giving arbitrary numbers. track is a more fair environment....levels the playing field a bit.

also, i'm not flaming the OP...he was responsible in the vids, looked like an open/empty stretch of road....and i also told him good kill. so no one give me that "wet blanket" crap...that's gay.

Re: For all the non-believers out there....

Yeah the place we play at is way out of town in an industrial area. No traffic, 4 lanes divided both ways. It's long enough for slower vehicles up to mid to low 12's. Any faster and it's to the real track.

Plus somewhere in this thread the OP stated he is going to the track. *I* never did any serious street racing, that's the only comparison I can make is on the track and I'm downright curious.

Re: For all the non-believers out there....

I like to race better at our street area than the track because it's easier to get consistent launches, you don have to worry about track prep and you don have to worry about someone oiling it down and having to wait for 30-45 min for cleanup.

you dont HAVE to track prep to go to a track...i drive there and put my truck on the track the same way i drove it to the track. also, if anything, traction should be better on a track since it's prepped to help traction...though some places prep better than others.

as for people breaking...that's annoying, lol. but i've rarely had that problem. once when a someone on a bike layed it down and another time when someone put their 10 second car in the wall.

Re: For all the non-believers out there....

The track in SanAntonio is good sometimes but last time I went, the track prep was horrid. You might as well be trying to launch on wet pavement it was that slippery. When you don't have a locking diff, traction is of the utmost importance. Lol

Re: For all the non-believers out there....

I think he's talking about how they prep the track. I definately think you get more grip at the track. It's crazy that he didn't spin any of the vids. My truck spins alot on the street. Not so much if I get a good launch, but it always spins a little. As far as having to wait at the track goes, my first and only experience at the track went like this. I waited in line for 45 min. to an hour. Finally get to the pits and the guy looks in the back of my truck. There's some sh!t back there, that I totally forgot about. He kicked me out of the pit, and I had to go to the parking lot to stuff all of it into the back seat, folding chairs, etc. Had to go to the end of the line. I wait another hour. Get back to the pits and do my little burn, then me, and the supercharged stang I was racing staged. Then they tell us to back out and shut the engines down. I didn't know what was going on. I finally overheard them say that the guy in front of me, didn't slow down and went off the end of the strip. So I'm wondering if it's meant to be. Then finally, they line us back up, and I missed the light and got a horrible reaction time, LOL. All that trouble for that?

You should come to SAR on the 24th. Some of the guys are going for midnight madness.
