For all the non-believers out there....2001 Bullit and Solstice
I have some video footage of me racing a well modded bolt on Bullitt Mustang and a Solstice. The Mustang has 310whp and has C&L CAI, 3.73 gears, Short throw shifter, O/R H-pipe, Magnapack C/B and tune. You know my mods already and the Solstice was stock. First run of the Bullitt, I didn't wanna risk wheel spin, so I left a bit soft. He beat me by only 1/2 car. Second run I launched more aggressively and held him off the whole 1/4 mile. The Solstice was his friends car and also the camera man. So.......someone tell me this didn't happen, that this footage is not my truck and it's not a real Bullitt Mustang. Conditions: Me one passenger and 1/3 tank of fuel. Him with a passenger and unknown fuel. Temp was a crisp 60 deg F.
I'm not buying it has 310rwhp. If I remember right the '01 Bullitt had 265hp, which the extra 5 from the stock GT was mainly due to their nice intake. That probably put real rwhp around 235-245. A CAI, O/R pipe and catback with tune won't be putting that to 310rwhp or anywhere near it. It would take a ton of bolt-ons for it to be at 310rwhp, with a stock motor H/C/I. The only 4.6 2V motors I KNOW of that are around 310rwhp N/A are built motors.
Also, it does not seem like he launched it at all. Seems like a light take off.
Either way, you did win for sure and that's impressive either way you look at it. Just seems like the dude was BS'ing ya a little and launched on the wussy side. After that, it seems like he drove it well for sure. Good job.

Even if he wasn't at 300whp, he should have caught me easily by 2nd gear and pulled me hard by third by the way everyone says my truck should run. I know for a fact that Bullitt with the mods he had is at the very least 270 whp. That's 11.36lbs/hp. My truck at approx. 325hp is 16.6lbs/hp. It should have walked me as if I were sitting still. Now you guys can see that me beating a stock 3v GT actually happened. The Bullitt is lighter than a 3v car and when u raced both cars, they both had a passenger. My truck is sine kind of factory freak or something. Can't really explain why it's do fast.

So, I hear what you're saying and I'm not trying to discount your "kill." I'm just saying that the driver was crappy and it was not a 310whp Mustang as stated. With a CAI and exhaust (not even LTs) it is 270? Maybe. Either way, hp to weight you're right.
In autox I beat Z06 vettes in my automatic Mustang that have crappy drivers. I'm still proud that I whooped up on a 50,000K plus car in my POS Mustang.
Bullitt runs about 265 stock...MOST New Edge GTs (99-04) have 260 stock. The 2 valve 4.6s DO NOT take to little mods....... FORD massaged the hell out of that 4.6 to get the 260 mark. CAI, Exhaust, TB, Tune would maybe net you 20 HP. Stock GTs dyno 220-230 STOCK RWHP. Given the Bullitt has the better intake (reason for 5 more horses), it would probably be in the 230-235 RWHP area. I figure he is pushing about 240-245 RWHP with his mods. Now with all that said......It is still a GOOD KILL!!! Both runs you had him in the 1/4 and that is all that counts.
Keep it up

Compared to our 5.6 of course not. They make decent torque for it's size. That is made up by gears and my truck with 3.73's should turn the tables around quite easily next time I bump into him, unless he swaps on a s/c or sprays.
