War StoriesThis section is for discussion of any races you may have particpated in. If you smoked someone like a pack'o'cools, let us know. Likewise, if you got beat... let us know by what, so we can keep an eye out for it next time.
I beat my co-workers 09 civic SI coupe tonite. it all started with my other coworker saying he could beat me in his 07 CC ram hemi w/exhaust so after work i told him lets go but he pu$$ed out so i ended up racing the civic. its was a very close race and i barely pulled him gettin on the freeway but i guess im excited bout it. i also have bdpp 87 tune, maggie swap, injen cai, and throttle body coolant bypass. but he got the jump on me cuz he was in the inside lane turning left to enter the freeway. it was fun though
Race from a dig and see how "close" it is.

Maybe you are a superb driver, and all the drivers out here suck, but every newer Civic SI I have seen at the 1/8th and 1/4th suck nuts.
Last time Socaliallstar and myself were out at the 1/8th, we saw a couple running 10.5-11's all night. My truck was running 9.5s which is a horrible time for it BTW. How is it gonig to catch up after being a full second behind unless it's trapping a hell of a lot higher than we are, which they weren't.

If it makes you feel better it did beat a like 1994 6cyl mustang about a week ago...lol...
hehe, pre '05 the V6 Mustangs (chick-stangs) made Jesus cry. Although at a local 1/8th mile track I watched an 18ish y/o girl whoop up on some kids with hers with their similar cars. She was out there a lot and a decent driver. Brought a tear to my eye seeing kids do it the right way.

lol. s2000's should run the 1/8th in 9 flat.
I can't help you were running bad drivers.
Also, i'm sure anyone in here can tell you, launching a fwd car is not the easiest thing to do correctly.
All you've told me is that those guys were running 16's. Which is ****ing pathetic.
For what it's worth, I can launch my little Cobalt 5spd faster and easier than I can launch the T. I know how to slip the clutch just right and get just a hair of wheel spin and power shift the hell out of it. When I race my girl in the T, I get a good jump on her 1st, 2nd gear. When I hit 3rd, she's at my side and starting to pull away. Launching a rwd car, especially one with a lot of torque and limited traction is a total PITA.

You have weight transfer on your side for a rwd launch. If you're having issues it's in your setup.

Mostly peglegging?
Pegleg is half the problem w/the T. If the car/truck has good sticky tires then yes it's easier to an extent to get out of the hole quicker than fwd. But from my 2 vehicles, I can launch the hell out of the Cobalt much easier than my T.
