There's a huge difference between your Civic and our Titan, the biggest being the Civic originally came from Japan. There's a JDM Civic, the US-built '07 Civic only had 55% parts content from the US, the '08 has 70%. Not enough to really qualify as a domestic vehicle. It was designed in Japan by Japanese, it's an import.
The Titan doesn't come from Japan. It wasn't designed by the Japanese, there is no JDM Titan, etc. It's more American than some "American" vehicles that end up being built in Canada and Mexico. Parts content isn't 100% US, but there are NO domestic vehicles with 100% domestic parts content.
Using the logic of "It's a Japanese company therefore it's an import" is flawed. Going by that logic, all of Chrysler's vehicles would be "imports" while under the ownership of Daimler.
I understand the logic. It's great logic too. But it's still an import company. The money still goes mostly out of this country.
*wink*
Ultimately, you own an import. Just like i do. And toyota did this before you guys
There isn't a JDM Titan because trucks and such don't really exist in the consumer market in other parts of the world. Just about everywhere else has taxes on engine size. The tax on a 5.6L engine would be insane.
I think my 0-60 Calculated is about 5.2, so you should def be low 14's if you run 5.5 0-60's WOOT...Plus I'm not sure what your car would trap at, but if its higher than mid 97.7 (highest I've trapped) then you may be nipping high 13's on a cold day
What are you using to calculate your 0-60 times?

Call it what you want, but the only real defining factor in domestic vs import these days is where the money goes. If that's ALL you look at then...well...guess what, now all Chrysler vehicles are imports thanks to Fiat. Buy a Challenger and now you own an Italian muscle car! Woohoo!
See where your logic is flawed? It's all semantics, but if my vehicle comes from the US, is built by American workers with the majority of parts from the US, was designed by Americans then I'm being very patriotic by buying an import.
I guess the main point I'm trying to make is there simply is no comparison, at all, between your Civic and our Titans other than the companies themselves are Japanese. Your Civic is a true import, the Titan is not. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this.

Ive use that calculator before and its way off. According to it, im running a 5.3 0-60 which is pretty close to wickedowesix. Only problem is, I saw him run this past saturday, and I am no where near as fast.
Running a 13.5 in almost 3000 DA is just crazy. What was the DA when you ran your 13.8 O-five?

-700, but I also ran 13,9's in about a +600 to +1000 DA last year....Eh, I've seen similarly modded titans running 5's on there Uprev Cipher...Every time I've used it it seems very spot on....The only thing is, it seems to use its calculations based on a car....Like It will calculate my top-end as being better then it actually is and my bottom end as being slightly worse than it is....The way I check it is to calculate things I already know the answer for, such as 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile trap and ET....I also estimate I have about 320-325 WHP based on other similarly modded Titans, and it said I had like 323 or so, pretty close....I believe his SS is faster than my truck by probably around 1 second, but a lot of that will be in the top-end with his cam...I also think his 0-60 is faster than 5 seconds...Like I've aid before, my truck has a lot of torque, I usually hang with very low 13 second cars at the track up nearly to the 1/8th mile, then its like racing a front end loader lol

correct me if i'm wrong, but Fiat doesnt completely own Chrysler...they are just the major share holders. i guess that still means most of the money goes to fiat though, of course...that being said, hardly any companies are making money, so we should be saying the debt or losses are going out of the country.
Think my one pass' 0-60 calced to a mid 4 seconds while spinning, getting sidewards and letting off.
A 5.5 for that Civic is good Woot, sounds like you should be somewhere in the low 14's but your going to have to cut a good 60ft. Was that 0-60 cacl you used the one where it takes the 1/8th mile time and trap speed? I'm thinking it's allot more accurate than the ones that take your weight, flywheel HP, and transmission only.
i calc'd it myself. The car goes 62 mph in 2nd gear. Had someone time it 3 or 4 times. They were all right around 5 and 1/2 seconds. These new tires helped a lot with that heh.

It's a lot easier for Honda to make money. They use the same motor in their cars bikes and lawn mowers. At least it sounds that way. Last I checked my mower didn't do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Just wait til I drop that cam in. Jk jk

Yeah thats the one I use. I tested a lot of those calculations against info I already had, and they were very close...All the HP and 1/4 and 1/8th mile times were pretty close...If Woot went 5.5 for real, then I def would believe a 5.2, because I would jump to a good lead off the line, but he would probably start catching me toward the end...They work for me....when someone asks me what I could run 0-60 in real life (LOL), I usually tell them mid to high 5's though
Wickedowesix: I was thinking about this today, its a shame you can't get out somewhere on a good track in a really good DA, cause you would probably be close to that 12.6 already....I know I ran 14.4- 14.5's in a 2300-2500 DA with a 10 MPH headwind, so I figure 14.3 in that DA normally...then add on about 500-700 for the DA (that you ran in) and I would probably be 14.4..maybe low 14.5...So you probably have a high 12 second truck if you got out here and ran....Thats nice, I'm going to have to look at your sig to see your mods again LOL
