Tried to keep up with another titan :)

Tonight was coming from Buffalo at around 10:30 p.m. cruising on 190 towards Niagara Falls. Passed by another Titan that was in the middle lane. I slowed down a bit and he catch up with me. It was a newer one since dash lights were not like my 05. Waved through traffic and he got on it so i tried to catch up and surprisingly i wasn't any faster then him. His looked stock, well untill we got to like 100 mph which is beyond stock speed limiter. Guess i can use an excuse that i had like 300lb of tools

Anyways, i was thinking about catching up with him and see if he would like to chat, but cop showed up and ruined it all. We both were pulled over. Good thing for me that i got no tickets or anything. Not sure about him.
Anyways, just wondering if it's someone from this board. Not many titans around, and was nice to see another owner. Too bad it end up kinda stupid.

As for my upgrades, nothing fancy but i was hopeing to be faster then stock looking titan. I got volant cai, dual exhaust, bd with premium tine, 2* advance, but lifted and 33" tires.

I beat a fellow titan today as well here over in Hunington Beach, CA..
..started at a light, we complimented eachothers Titans.. We were both lifted on 6 inch procomps with 35's.. Not sure what he had performance wise, but I did see a bunch of tv screens everywhere... Well we shot off and of course I took the win.. at 75mph I was already up atleast 3 truck lengths..

..war stories aside, i wanted to ask you a question..

how in the world do we start a tread!??

go to any section and open, you should see a little tab at the top left of the window, "New thread" click on it and boom your in.

I had a 2004 model before my 2008, and down low they seemed quite even, but above 70 the 2008 is quite a bit quicker because of VVT to help the top end. Off the line I would expect you to take him pretty good, though.

BTW, the speed limiter cuts you off at around 115.

It's VVT-i FYI.

If he was stock, he may have beated you because you have 33" tires. The added weight could be slowing you down some.

Nice race though, and keep it safe.

How did his truck look stock? Did he not have stickers all over his back glass?

Yes, I know it's the valve timing that is variable, not lift. It was a mistake.

And I have BT pakage, so should affect my performance at higher speeds.

My mistake, got little stupid with kilometers to miles calculation. I was at about 195 km/h which is about 125.
I might be wrong, but mine was gaverned at about 105-110 mph

There's alot of fast trucks without a lift or rims. And alot of people just do muffler swaps, so no chrome tips. He could have had the same mods as you and walked you pretty easy if it was an 07 and up. Especially if you topped out at 121 mph.

True. And he didn't have big tow. JUst was nice to see another Titan. Too bad he's not on this board. WOuld be great to see someone local.
And i didn't topped out. Since i got my bully dog i don't have that issue
