Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

It looked like the last model GT Stang before the latest and greatest. Double left turn lanes, we were in the front, I was in the outside lane. Light turns green, we both floor it coming out of the turn and I get a truck on him and he slowly reels in to my back tire and then lets off. We were prob up to 70ish. The car looked and sounded stock. Tried to get a vid but it was all f#cked up.

They pull on the big end good. I know, cause it was the one Mustang I picked on religiously and I never could hold it off in the 1/4. He always beat me by 1.5 on the top. His was stock w/the 3.73's and 5M.

Stock '05-'10 run the 1/4 in 13.3ish depending on which trim, gears and tranny. They also trap at over 100mph.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

yeah well your 07 mustang is a little bit different than most...

Ive ran an 06 GT 5sp that was stock in my truck and pulled on him a little bit. We shut it down at about 70mph and he hadnt started to gain on me yet at that point.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

No dude, his 07 mustang is not a little different than most. Almost every time i've ever run an 05-09 mustang gt, they run a similar pass to jpac's time he just listed.

Yeah and those arent that good of times either. There was a full bolt on 06 pulling on me almost all night last week at the track. I think I put that video on youtube also

He had the car for like 2 days before running the car down the track. That thing has a lot more in it. Not to mention its on a 235 street tire with over 400rwhp.

jpac's stang is quite a bit faster than most of them out there. A lot of guys dont have the money for a whipple so they stick to bolt ons and tune. Jpac will have bolt ons, a tune, plus the whipple... which makes it not like most others.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

I doubt he was only running 8.6's @ 85 being whippled.

If he was, he needs to sell his mustang hire a track tutor to teach him in a geo metro or something.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

W00t, I think you need to pay a bit more attention to what's going on in other threads. You've posted in jpac's threads about his stang before and now you have no idea that its blown?

There's a reason he's running those times. Lack of traction, lack of track experiance and he's getting nasty wheel hop. 8.6@86 is still quick for having a 235 wide rear tire.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

85 mph trap is slow... for a ****ing whipple supercharged mustang. I've trapped 81 mph.

this is what i'm saying. 85 sounds like a stockish mustang gt.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

I'm trappng 85mph in the 1/8th mile and 106mph in the 1/4, I have a hard time believing a stock 05-09 GT would run the same times as me. With those traps I'm at 13.0's. The fastest close to stock 05 bodystyle GT I've ever seen at our track did a 13.9 at best, IIRC he had intake and catback exhaust. I've seen a boltons GT with sticky tires run the same day as me and I was beating his times.

Re: Are pre-coyote GT stangs fast?

lol it never ends. Look at my you tube vids. Small earth quakes happen in my car while going down the track. Also I'm pulling 8.4s @ 86.9. My slips are on another thread.
