Well i was cruising home today and pulled up next to this RR. I noticed as i pulled up that it was a s/c model and didnt think much of it. Took off from the green light at a normal speed and at about 40mph the guy is pacing me. I tapped the skinny pedal to unlock the torque converter and threw him a rev. He punched it but i figured he would get me pretty bad from a 45 roll so i stayed back.
We pulled up to the next red light and it was definately on with him taking off like that. Light turned green and i hammered it. He was definately on it but i got the hit and kept a fender on him til about 60 then by 85 he had a full truck on me. I shut it down at 85 and accepted it as a loss.
We were cruising at 45 again and he wanted to go again so he honked it and i just couldnt even keep up. That thing was moving the F out! I hit it at 45 and by 55 he had more than a truck on me so i shut it down.
Just looked it up on drag times and it looks like in stock form those things run 13.3 @ 105 with a 2.0 60ft.. Thats damn fast for an SUV and i feel pretty good that i got him to about 60mph!
Keep in mind, im not tuned.. i might have been able to pull harder if i didnt have WOT restriction!
A real man will admit when he has been defeated lol

Nice run! I see quite a few Rovers around here, but i don't think i've seen a SC'ed one yet... Damn, they run low 13's stock!?! That's awesome for an SUV!!!!

Aren't those RR's over $90k? I'd bet if you put another few grand in your truck in the right places you might at least stay even. Regardless, I couldn't even imagine taking a rig that expensive through the mud or the cow pies I do here in Iowa.
Think about what it must cost to repair a trashed supercharger on those. I don't think the RR's are especially known for reliability, even though they are pretty popular in the 3rd world... I know they have capabilities that are pretty impressive in the field, but then again, so does my wife's FJ at 1/4th the cost (but it ain't fast!)
Heck yeah it is. And IIRC, they are at least as heavy as our trucks. I think somewhere around 5500lbs!!!!
Transmissions and the air system is their problem after about 50K miles. They are a sweet truck though, even the non SC models. Their biggest downfall is their fuel economy. As bad if not worse than our trucks. Especially when their engines were sourced by BMW I think. Maybe 2006 model year and earlier? At some point they changed from Jaguar/ford over to BMW or vice versa. The old V8's were gas hogs with AWD all the time.

Jpac, my T has never been down the 1/4 mile. It did however dyno at 290rwhp and 345rwtw. It is an 04 cc le so I figure it weighs a good amount over 5k.
Now that I have seen what the supercharged ones run I would really like to line up with a normal one. I figure if I beat the s/c one to 60 I should pull a good amount on the n/a model.
As far as them costing 90k, good for them lol I paid 13k for my titan and I have about $1500 in mods on it. I would love to see what firelife's truck could do against one of them!
