the timing couldn't have been better.. I had installed a new set of 4.56 gears a few weeks ago..the 500 mile breakin was brutal to me (can't drive over 50, no longer than 10 minutes at a time)...so friday i finally have my mileage in and yesterday i changed my diff fluid. so this evening I'm feelin spritely and decide just to cruise around and get on it every now an then (especially with the cutouts openned)... so i come up to a stoplight and i notice a couple youngsters in an older legend, i wasn't thinkin anything til I heard the legend revvin..ooo i felt like a kid in a candy store, i actually let him get the jump (to make him feel good), i flew by him by the time we got to the crosswalk across the street, and i almost forgot that i rebuilt my lsd before i installed the gears and as I flew by his open window my truck shifted to 2nd with a loud screech which surprised me... i was all smiles after pullin into the driveway
While I have no doubts you beat the car Fred, they run pretty good for what they are.
My mom had one of those cars and my brother still has it. Back when it was newer it had no trouble cruising 110-130 on the highway in the heat of the desert. I pushed the speedo to the needle at 145 one time as well.
Last time I went up to the Casino at Winstar in Oklahoma, my brother and I toyed with an Ecoboost F150 in it the whole way back. We would let him catch up and then open the throttle and blow his doors off.

you are correct..they are quick for what they are...they are one of my favorites from way back...when they first came out they were considered very quick.. maybe if I was in stock mode it would have been closer but there was no way that car was gonna keep up, lookin in my rear view i could see the smoke comin from their car as it tried to keep up... thats funny the way you played with the eco because i use to do that alot with my truck when i cruise down to socal on 5...
