HEMI vs TITAN

it all started with this 4 door black titan with black windows with top secert racing on the front windsheild and back glass. I always wondered who this was or where he was from, what did he run? Well finally i was parked in the wal-mart parking lot about to leave when i heard the rev of a truck pulling in the spot on the side of me. the window rolls down and a truck full of people are saying, wanna run that hemi? well me there was no question on that answer, Yes i said. he said lead the way. I lead him out of towm about two miles on a divided two lane highway. I got in one lane him in the other. he told me to honk the horns. one, two, three i was gone. i took him from the jump and he never caught back up. when i hit 120 i shut it down and he was still 2-3 cars behind me. we got back into town and she said damn. what the hell you have done to it. i just mentioned my intake programmer and exhaust and kindly asked him about his. both trucks are 4 door 2wd, he says, exhaust, intake, headers, throttle body spacer, pullys and new belts. he told me i must have won b/c i have better gears than him. i have 390 gears that come with the truck and he just said by and left, never to be seen again, goodbye titan. i am lucky that my truck ran good that day b/c his titan sounded pretty good but not good enough for the 14.92 hemi 1/4 mile.

A tuck full of people? how many people were in your truck, sounds like it was just you, try filling your truck up with people and then race.

Re: HEMI vs TITAN

He did all that and still came up short.TT might be upset at me but have to say good kill.He might just have a slow one since he did all that mod and still can't break into the 14's.And you might have a better built Hemi. But then again,it could just be the driver.I haven't ran against any trucks.Might go to the track this April just to see what I will do here in MN.

Re: HEMI vs TITAN

When he hit 120 the Titan was 2-3 cars back. Ok douchebag the Titan would have shut down at 114-115 and he would have been alot further than that back if this race was more than a wet dream. Maybe try again with something that is not so far fetched. I'm willing to bet you don't have a Dodge 1500 with HO motor in it but you do have dreams about Titans at night.

I think it was a drive by Goat, or maybe a hit/post and run.

Re: HEMI vs TITAN

My 2006 LE Titan CC will beat my wifes 2005 Durango Limited Hemi off the line with ease but once we get up to speed (60-70) I don't have a chance and she easily catches up and overtakes me. If I wanted a race car I would have bought one, I wanted a sporty truck and the Titan fits the bill nicely.

Re: HEMI vs TITAN

Never raced a Hemi (probably never will since I would lose big time with my setup). In fact I never "raced" anything until Friday night. A 2wd ford F-150 took off from a redlight next to me and had a car length on me before I knew we were even racing! Since my son was in the truck with me and loves the racing crap I obliged and I passed him in a 4X4 CC with 35" tires! Turns out it was my neighbor across the street who had just bought the truck. Man was he embarrassed! I'm not sure if I actually beat him or he just sucks at driving! Probably the latter. Felt good though. Downside is I think I burned about 10 gallons of fuel doing it!

Re: HEMI vs TITAN

lol....

What a joke...

This race must've happened in the future, since there's no underpulleys yet. Not too mention, DECENT headers just came out. And one member who's running them was running better than a 14.9 in the 1/4 BEFORE those. so you wouldn't stand no chance...

But don't run off-welcome to TT. Just make your lies a lil' more believable next time!

Re: HEMI vs TITAN

Sounded to me like it was off a roll with a full Titan, but I could be wrong. Is there a worse time to race a hemi(On a roll)?
