Not a war story, but more like a crime

I went to the track this weekend as a spectator.

Saw some fast moving machines!

Got to see a stock Mustang GT ('05) run. I have to say, I was impressed.
The driver had a hard time getting traction, but once he did, it moved! Ran a few times, once beating a Reg. Cab Hami and also a Lancer EVO. I know lots don't care for the 'Stang, especially the import folks, but those cars can move. I know it's speed was 100mph, and I think it's time was about 13.8 or 13.9.

Funny story though. There was a truck there-Chevy S-10. It was modified, but mostly with ground effects and stickers, BUT! I give the driver credit, casue he was out there racing it. He ran between a 19.6 and a 22.3. Again, not the best times, but he was trying!

So I'm leaving the track, headed home, and who's behind me on the two lane road-the S-10. And at the point where the two lanes becomes four, he's all over it trying to pass me.

I didn't have the decency to race him, I just let him go...

He just blew right past me,well, at least as fast as the thing would go.

I just laughed.

Good thing you didn't try. Those ground effects and stickers are known to give super fast speed. Well, at least to the money flying outta his wallet!

You got to admit though, in that 30minutes it took him to pass you, his truck looked fantastic

Yours is one of the best kinds of "race" stories. YOU know you'd smoke him, HE knows it (but wants to play anyway), and instead you nonchalantly say, "Nahhhh, thanks anyway."
Nothing worse than lining up to race, ya take off, and out of the shute you notice no one is racing ya...lol.

I felt kinda bad for the guy, but hey, it was working for him....
