The Rumble Bee

I thought you guys might enjoy hearing about my ride home.

I was on my way home from work on a 4 lane road when I saw a bright yellow Dodge pickup with the "Rumble Bee" package getting ready to turn ahead of me. The owner was nice enough to allow me to pass by , but floored his truck to catch up with me. Tires squalked as he spun a bit and at the next light he pulled next to me while I was on the inside.

I looked over and nodded at him as I caught him looking at my truck and he motioned for me to roll down my window.

The conversation went like this.
(SF) SpeedFreak (RB) Rumblebee

RB: Nice Truck
SF: Thanks
RB: I thought about the Nissan, but had to get the Dodge
SF: Why?
RB: Hemi, Its got 345HP! (and to make his point he leans out the window with a eat it and die grin pointing to his front fender at the Hemi sticker)
RB: You cant beat the performance for the dollar!
SF: I bet it runs good.
RB: Wanna give me a go? I will let you have the jump.

I took a quick look around and with no traffic anywhere nearby I said "Just go on green"

The lights were about to change and when we took off I quickly took a lead and was noticably spacing the distance between him and I by 65mph where I tapped my brake light at him. We slowed to 55 and kept pace with each other till the next town where he again pulled up beside me shaking his head.

RB: That thing moves, what have you done to it, Nitrous?
SF: Its new and just broken in good.
RB: Says" I dont believe that one bit, Ive got a Hemi"

SF: Says "Yep, The best performance for your dollar"

brilliant honey-tom!!! that'd be cool to pull up to the dodge dealer in your titan and ask a salesman, "can you direct me to the parts counter" then going to the parts counter and ordering/buying a couple, actually a twenty pack of small rumble bee stickers... haha

NICE KILL. Although I don't think I'll ever race my truck, I really enjoy reading about how it does against other vehicles. THANKS Speedfreak.

yeah, i always see those things going the other way and can never get one next to me. the only thing ive ever got close to racing was a new f150 about a year ago. we were on the highway going 60 and then floored it. not close at all.

good story and keep us posted on your latest kills.

I rarely abuse my daily transportation and to be honest this was the first time I've placed carpet on my Titans gas pedal.

Had it not been for the guy going out of his way to point out he had a "Hemi" I would probably just left him alone. I couldnt believe what I was watching as he stretched out the window so he could point at his fender emblem. Thats a good way to throw out a back, would have been easier to just go to the dodge dealership and buy a Hemi emblem. At least this way you could reach into your glove box and wave it for everyone to see.

[rant] Does anyone else get upset when they see FAKE hood scoops? I can't figure out anyone would want that on their car. The last body style mustangs were the worst. They had fake scoops all over their car. People are so dumb. How about a big plastic fake supercharger under the hood. Same concept. [/rant]

Great story
