Raced an 2004+ Acura TL automatic

He gave me the grin of come on lets go for the hell of it, i had my 2 nephews with me 9 and 10 years old and about 100 lbs of topsoil for my wifes garden, well light turned green i had it in 3rd gear (i've heard that its holds power band better) well we were off i got the holeshot and gained about half a truck on him, he started to pull on me a bit and had about a car or a bit more at about 85 were i shut down, it felt pretty good, but even though he beat me i would have done a little better without the 2 kids and the extra weight on the back. I gave him the thumbs up, so did he. He was lucky i wasnt driving my F250 diesel because i would have handed him his as$. I think those cars are good for a mid 14 to high 14's, 6spd are faster of course. .................................................. .. Good day.

I know if it was a 6 spd it would have ripped me a new one, but being it was an automatic they lose about a second 0-60 and 1/4 mile.I wish i would've had my diesel, i already gave a (C6 Corvette) a run and beat it, not by much but enough to say i put at least a truck and a half on him to 90mph (its fully modded so dont flame me) then it would have been a different story, but oh well you dont win them all.

Motor Trend did a 1 year test on a Auto TL and posted it to be a 7 second car to 60mph.

PS: It also cost around $36,000 and weighed a good bit less than your truck.

Although you gave him a run for his money, I'm wondering what kinda chicken-s*** mfer pulls up in a fast car and wants to drag race a guy in a truck with 2 kids and a load of friggin' dirt in the back? I mean, wtf you know?

Nice of you to afford him the opportunity to play though. IMO you win for even just giving him a shot. Sorry f***** (him, not you.)

Its completly possible the Acura driver had no idea the Titan had 100lbs of soil in its bed. four 25lb bags of soil wouldnt even cover the bottom of the trucks bed.

In so far as racing someone with kids on board I agree that was stupid. It was also equally stupid to race when there are kids in your car and even more so when there not your own.
(Weve all done stupid things, its part of being human)

Its possible if the windows were tinted the Acura had no idea there were children aboard.

That may be but when you challenge somebody or you are challenged and oblige, you don't make excuses. If you lose, you lose.

I thought about that after I posted. Day late and dollar short but at least I considered the notion the Acura driver might not have known.
