4dr VR6 Jetta goes down....

I'm driving along on a multi-laned city street when I come up to a red light at an intersection. As I approached the light, I see a late model 4dr Jetta VR6 sitting in the right hand lane waiting for the light to change. I slowed down for the light and steered over into the left hand lane as I approached the intersection.

I look over and see a punk kid with another guy sitting in the passenger seat. I could tell they didn't like the way I veered over into the left-hand lane at the last minute when I stopped for the light. I guess I got the little pansies nervous because when the light turned green they quickly accelerated ahead as expected. I didn't feel like stomping on the gas so I slowly pressed the accelerator pedal down to about half way until I caught up with them. Unfortunately, the next light turned red as we approached and I had to brake rather hard. I knew this time I had to press the pedal to the metal so to speak.

The light turned green as we both accelerated hard out of the hole. He gained an instant half-car length on me from the start. However, as the speeds quickly increased, I slowly reeled him in. It got to the point were his front-end was near the back of my passenger door and then he jumped back to the rear bumper when DOHC endurance engine hit the mid rpm sweet spot. I could tell he had a manual. As the RPM's increased, I kept getting farther and farther ahead. The funny thing is that after his front-end fell back to about half-car behind my rear bumper, he shut it down and turned over into the same lane behind me and made left turn at the next intersection light. I could tell he was pi$$ed. Man, I love this truck!

Good one. Those are quick little cars. I wasn't even aware that they made a VR6 sedan. I should get out more, huh?
