Altima 3.5 SE

Newer body style, like an '03 I think that's the auto trans, not the manual 6spd, right? not the SE-R even.

Clearly wanted to put me in my place, and he did. I got the jump off the light and didn't make it to second before we were even again. Everything after 2nd gear was a total loss to me. I got smoked with just myself and a passenger on 1/4 tank, pretty bad

I ran a 14.9 @ the track with the TG up and a bit of tire spin, so I know I can do better. Banks cat-back, straight pipes no resis, Volant, etc. didn't matter I got smoked.

But guess what, I was going to home depot on my way to pick up a pallet of top soil Try getting that in the trunk of an Altima.

Sorry to hear about your loss but that wasn't a very even match. Those altima 3.5 SE's are quick, faster than a mustang gt (the 03 and 04 at least, not sure about the 05 gt). Don't get me wrong, I'm by NO means a mustang fan (overrated and over common, like an american version of the civic) but they are still a pretty quick car.

Maybe next time just let him take off and see how long it takes him to figure he's racing himself!!!

You're right. It is a hell of an engine so long as it isn't mated to a CVT type transmission as in my wife's Murano. That transmission is a power theif. I love the car and the motor, but all other vehicles sporting the same motor can spank it.

Sorry to burst your bubble "La Magra" but a stock 1999-2004 Mustang GT 4.6 V8 ran flat 14's in the 1/4 and 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds versus the Altimas 14.7-14.9 1/4 and 0-60 mph in 6.7 to 6.9 seconds. Only the facts. My buddy ran a 13.9 (1/4) bone stock with 20psi on his stock tires on his GT..

Sorry to burst your bubble chepdog, but a stock Cobra from any of those years wouldn't even live up to your claims. Here is a link for those interested.

No surprise their with it's HP to weight ratio and apple to orange ratio. We aren't far behind with a few mods.

Don't ever come quoting facts from Motortrend. That's a no no. Need I post more. The 4.6L V8 Mustang GT is a joke. One more thing. It also has two additional cylinders and 1.1 additional liters of displacement. It should spank an Altima. Not even close.

The previous post indicated " '03-'04 mustangs"

There is a huge difference between the '96-'98 4.6's (slow) and the '99-'04 4.6's (fast).

Those links you are showing are the older mustangs (link#2 is a '94 5.0). Link #3 is a 215hp '94 GT with the 5.0 (slow)

Look on your own first link down to the '99 GT. 5.5/14.1 sec.

I think you were just owned by the internet. "Need More"?

The later Mustangs with the PI (performance improved) heads are fairly quick.

I own a 02 Mustang GT and have taken my share of Altima SE's with it. I'm not saying the Altima SE is slow by any means, its just not the performance equal of the later Mustangs and definately not anything you wish to challenge a 05 GT with.
